    i just put a new first to second shift coolar in and did not rplace synchros they looked fine, but my car grinds third if i shift at high revs,and just now if i down shift into second at high revs it grinds aswell. I put a new clutch slave and i have a vast stage three hybrid clutch, butthink my pressure plate might be bad. i need some possible answers in what i should replace?????

    sounds like a syncro. that was happening to me in 2nd gear. i had the syncros, shift collar, and 2nd gear itself replaced. i also drove it around like that for 6 months.

    I have the vast hybrid ceramic clutch and rs4 pp with lite weight flywheel. And a new clutch slave so what could it be leading to this problem... this is pissing me off i just put a new shift collar in it. I knew I should of put the synchros in. What shit luck I have

    DEFINITELY should have replaced the synchros while the tranny was apart. Sounds like you'll need to rip it apart again and replace them. What kind and how much tranny oil did you put in?

    That's a problem. It should have 2.4 quarts of Redline MT90. Pull the fill plug on the driver's side of the tranny by the output flange, and use an allen key to dip into the hole. The fluid level should be 7mm +/1 1mm below the bottom edge of the hole.

    Ok, well that's not so bad then. I think you're going to have to replace the synchros if it's really bothering you.

    Spooling. . is that you? Seriously? In that case, just hit up your uber rich parents for a stasis tranny rebuild and problem solved. And you'll have one the fastest S4's known to man.
