    APR help/reviews!

Anyone who has the full APR exhaust, downpipes and catback, preferably TIPTRONIC, can you chime in and tell me what you think of it? How is the quality and how has the product stood up to usage so far. I think $2289 is cheap for downpipes and catback, so I dont want to spend that money and not get a great product, thanks in advance

    Re: APR help/reviews!

I just did tip Dp's on my car. I did piggies Dp's from Vast Performance. Same performance gain 1/4th the price. They are modified stock Dp's so they fit perfect.

I was going to order a set of milteck Dp's but when I saw them then saw the stock Dp's it didn't make any sense. Dimensions are the same the stock cats are better and If I ever need to go to the dealer or move to where I would need to get emissions test they pass 100% and you will never get a CEL for them. For me it was a no brainier.

Best part is every cat back will work because you are bolting them up to a stock cat section

Either way you go. Big Performance increase. With the money I saved on the Dp's I was able to purchase a cat back. So in the end I got Dp's and a cat back for less then I would have spent for just a set of Dp's

Not to sound like the noob from hell, but what exactly are "piggies?" Are they partially gutted stock cat assemblies?

YA they are modified Stock Dp's. At first I was leery about them until I noticed how many B5 guys have been using them. Not only that but they are the EXACT same dimensions as the aftermarket Dp's.

    Re: APR help/reviews!

Not a tip owner, but I have APR DP's and catback. There was a certain date where they revised their design, but if you end up with the ones before that the joint between the DP's and the catback has two slots that align and will leak if not welded. Fitment wasn't perfect, but it was okay. Would be better with the revised design. Otherwise, very happy with it.

    Re: APR help/reviews!

    I have the full APR exhaust on a B6 w/ 6MT.

They were in place when I bought the car over 1 yr and 10K miles ago (total vehicle mileage 67k). I don't know when they were originally installed, but they look the same today as they did when I got the car. The sound is great, yet subtle (I have done numerous 3-4 hrs roadtrips without any noise fatigue) and the car pulls hard.

I recently was working underneath the car and had to remove portions of the exhaust. IMO - the fit and build quality is 1st class. No leaks or forced fittings.

I can't comment compared to stock as I don't have that baseline.
