fs: trek fuel ex-8 mountain bike

if anyone's interested i'm selling my 05 trek fuel ex8. size is 17.5 - it would fit someone from mid 5's to low 6's. 4" travel front + rear with front lockout and rear propedal [like a lockout but better - keeps it from bouncing when you're climbing]. new rear shock [rockshock monarch 4.2], upgraded levers and rear dérailleur [sram x7], brake levers, rebuilt front fork [rockshock reba with bar mounted lockout], new brake pads - 6" disc, all suspension bearing replaced 6 months ago, lock on grips, titec seatpost, some other stuff. stock setup was pretty much all lx/xt - brakes, cranks, drivetrain, etc.

it's really a great bike, i just did an impulse buy on a new enduro. oops. this has gotta go! rides great, just get on and go. i'll throw in pedals [spd or crank bros candy's] and kenda nevegals [amazing] with 5 rides on them. also cateye wireless bike computer.

msrp was 2550, i paid 2k as a leftover, plus about 800 in parts since then. 1200.

Quick question im to lazy to research... can the rear shock be completely locked out? If so, on the fly or not? What size is the frame?

    Thanks

it does, sort of. the newer suspensions are going to what they call propedal. there is a lever you flip on the shock that switches from full suspension to a limited travel, high damping mode. this is an improved version of the lockout in that it still gives you a little bit of cush which helps keep the rear wheel on the ground vs bouncing off stuff when climbing. works great.

whoops! edited the ad. it's a 17.5 - good for someone mid 5's to low 6's. i'm 5'10, 30" inseam and it's great. my bro is 6'2 34" inseam and fits him great too. long seatpost tube so you can get a long post in there for the taller dudes.

    Free bump for Jim.

I've seen this bike...mostly from behind on both the climbs and the descents (oh well) and it's a clean ride. He takes care of his stuff.

Good luck with the sale and see you at China Camp next time!
