Rain around battery/brake booster area?

From the looks of it, I would expect that rain can get in the area where the battery, brake booster, ECU box is. Is this correct? Or am I being paranoid (again)?

yes, unless you have a cowl cover, it came on the early B6's

My car (2004) has a part of that on the passenger side, so I was thinking that perhaps the rest of it was taken off by the prev owner. I should get one anyway. BTW, I ask because I was thinking I should some waterproof connectors for my wiring in that area.

Just try sourcing a used/new one. They can't be expensive.

Actually it's not fine for me because I am putting a connector in that area, and now I need to find something waterproof instead.

I didn't think that cowl looked waterproof anyway. Might want to fab something for your app.
