All right i'm about to snap and could really use some help

I have been trying to hunt down something to throw me into limp mode for a while...i don't have my vag-com...it was stolen by a local shop (working on it now) but...

i had a massive tear in my TBB, that was replaced. Replaced DVs with 710Ns, replaced vacuum lines to DVs as well. Changed spark plugs to NGK BKR7Es ( just for the hell of it) and still nada.

It seems the boost doesn't kick in is hard as it should and tapers off way to soon in 1st-3rd. Then on a 4th gear run it has inconsitent boost, I can feel it fluctuating. On a 5th gear run, it will hit a wall and go into limp after it gets closer to peak boost.

what else could i check out? No CELs btw.

    thanks alot.

This may be a stupid suggestion but did you disconnect the battery? Try and reset the ecu.

My first suggestion would be to get a boost gauge so you can see exactly how much boost you are losing instead of "feeling" it.

Second would be what andru said: disconnect the battery in order to use the "poor man's code clearing" solution.

If this fails, VAG it, and post the codes here. Then await upon your solution from The Jerbel.

before you disconnect the battery, make sure you got the radio code.

hmm, check all your ic hoses, lower and upper for tears

make a boost leak tester. lately i've been going into limp mode and it's been because of a boost leak and found it in my f-hose. do you know how to make 1?? also best it to vag it, i clear it with vag also. you probably know that already. unpulging the battery will do it also i believe.

Re: All right i'm about to snap and could really use some help

yea well i unplug my battery after i fix it everytime, so much so that i have my radio code memorized (no bullshit)...

yea i know how to make a pressure tester, i read up on awe faqs. its just that an air compressor is so damn expensive, may you guys know better? i figure i just need one that can regulate to 20ish psi...but all i've found are about 100 bucks.

the last time it was scanned, right after i bought it, it said intermittent o2 sensor signal. i figure that might be it, but it ran like a champ with that code for a while, and if the sensor did go finally, there should be a CEL.

i pretty much ripped up the intake, bipipe, DVs, TBB,etc. till i was staring at my intake mani. i thought about the F hose, i just know its a bitch to get at.

it is either a very small leak, cuz im not hearing rushing air when on the throttle, or soemthing else. i just dunno, looking for other things to rip up.

oh and boost guage was the first thing on my list until this shit plague of no boost hit me.

Could try a bike pump for the cheap solution. Also are your DV valves new? Wonder if one of them is bad

99% chance you have a boost leak. Find a friend, family member or a shop with an air compressor and test it. Use soapy water - don't just listen as you might overlook some smaller leaks.

Did you replace the Throttle Body Boot with a stock one or upgraded? I replaced mine wit a spare stock one I had and ended up tearing it again like 2 weeks later. Now its on to 034.

TBB was replaced with new version ofstock, but upgraded clamps. Pull that, there are no tears.

Try posting in the Mid Atlantic forum of this board and also Audiworld. Their are tons of people in the VA/DC area that can help you pressure test and scan the car for you. And you can pick up a cheap air compressor for around 45-60 dollars at harbor freight.

You need to VAG your car. You also need to pressure test it. I would definitely suspect a large boost leak. The F hose would be the first place I would look.
