Exclamation B6 Cabriolet Windows Up/Down with Remote Help! (REWARD GIVEN)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

So I have been trying to get my FOB to open/close my windows remotely without any success. The closest I got to it is to have the windows go down about 3 inches and won't go back up. I have tried numerous codes and nothing. Some of the codes I have tried include:

    11788
    11896
    11898
    18880
16232 (won't save for some reason)
    ...and many others

I have my CH 62 Adaption currently set at 95. The car seems to be doing everything else it's supposed to. I own a 2003 A4 Cabriolet 3.0L.

I am willing to give my eBay OBDII cable to anyone who gets this working for me. I have purchased my own Ross-Tech HEX+USB cable so I don't really need the eBay cable anymore.

Please, please, please help me out.

    Thanks in advance...

Unlock all doors, then lock them (do this using the fob). Then after you've locked them, press and hold the lock button and they should go up. Reverse goes for putting them down. At least that's how mine work.

Yeah, I am holding the lock/unlock buttons.

I tried what your recommended SlappyB6 and the same things happens. I am able to get the windows to go down about 3 inches and then it stops. However, I can't even get it to go back up by holding the lock button. Weird. :(

Can you put the key in the door and turn & hold it to open & close the windows?

    Yes, that has always worked.

I am beginning to think it might be something with my CH 62 Adaptation settings. Everything else that the 46 Recode code allows me to do its doing. Anyone using other numbers in their CH 62 Adaptation? I am currently at 95 but I think it should be something else. Maybe because I have a Cabriolet?

Similar mod on my B5 would occassionally do this -- the windows would start moving, then stop. Apparently had to do with the remote battery being low, as I could not reproduce it with the remote right next to the car, but I could when I was some feet away.

I don't think it's a battery issue as I am usually standing withing 2-3 ft from the car when I attempt it. And every attempt leads to the same exact results.

Re: B6 Cabriolet Windows Up/Down with Remote Help! (REWARD GIVEN)

Weird, I recoded with code 11896 again and I managed to get my windows to go up remotely. However, it only happened once and then I couldn't get it to do it again. I don't think it can be the battery as I was literally inside the car and then right outside of it trying it out. The car has no problems locking and unlocking which means it is receiving the signal. I opened VAG-COM to see if any of the codes changed after that one successful hit and it seems to have remained the same. Any idea as to why this might have happened?

You've probably done this already - re-set the automatic open/close windows function.

Close the window all the way using the window switch. Release the switch, then lift it again for one second. This will re-set the window.

    Good luck!

My friend it is ur battery if ur battery is weak it will give out after a few seconds, and not provide enough juice to keep a steady signal.

+1 for weak battery. That's how I knew my battery was dying, the windows stopped going all the way up/down. Got it replaced, works like a charm.

You have to recode the central convenience module with VAG-COM (or equivalent) for cars sold in the US. The Ross-Tech site has more information on the process:

By battery, you must mean the battery in the remote right?! I have had no signs of my car's battery dying out. As far as my remote batteries go, I find it awkward that it will always go down to the same exact spot and won't go up at all. If it was indeed the battery, wouldn't it vary as far as distance and direction the window is going? I honestly don't think it's the battery as I have insane range still with this FOB. I will, however, replace it just to eliminate the possibility.

BTW, what are your Central Conv. codes? I can't seem to be able to recode anything above 12000.

It's worth a shot, and cheap. It's always good to have fresh batteries in such things anyway.

I'll give that code a try. Anyone with an 03' A4 Cabriolet able to read their Central Conv code to me? That way I can be 100% certain it isn't the coding.

    Thanks in advance...

Anyone with a 2003 Audi A4 Cabriolet able to check their Central Conv. and Adaptation codes? That would be awesome. I'll ship the cable immediately after getting these damn windows working.
