yea thats what the body shop is gonna do for me...at first when i got the quote before i spoke with the manager they wanted to charge me $1350 with tax...but like i said above luckily my aunt is good friends with the owner and he'll do it $400 out of pocket...
and insurance-wise...not worth to raise rates to fix something that'll cost me $400...but if i find whoever did this they'll need insurance
It is in no way worth it to take out under insurance since you'll have to pay the deductible anyway.
I don't know where you live or what shops you're getting quotes at, but $1,350 is obnoxious and $400 is still very high. I got my entire rear bumper painted and a corner of it repaired (from hit and run) and it was a tad under $350. I'd clay/buff that myself, DIY paint it if it needed it, then bring it to a body shop if I can't get it looking good enough since the damage is so small.
