help pls.....sorry if i posted at the wrong spot...but guys heres the story...
ive always put 94 octane on my 2002 3.0..two days ago i fueled up at shell and only 91 oct available...after fueling i turned the cap....not too sure if i turned it properly but i remember hearing two clicks....10 mins later my cel light came on...and ive been drinving now with cel for approx 100 kms...unfortunately the garages are all closed for the weekend....any suggestions as to why the CEL light turned on...its right after fueling....>>WiLL i damage or screw anything if i disconnect the negative on the battery to clear the cel and see if it turn back on>>>pls help..pls

undo the gas cap and put it back on again, and do what you said with teh battery. If it doesnt go away, youll have to get teh code(s) pulled

Its technically called Malfunction Indicator Light and unless its flashing, you shouldnt be too alarmed. Serious issues will make it flash.

Btw, your car will run fine on 91 octane, that isnt a problem. make sure your cap is tight, and its more than anything probably coincidental, and probably another issue altogether. Take it to get your codes read at a local autoparts store that does that.

couldnt hurt. TBA turning the key forward for a bit to let it adapt wont cause any harm, but Its probably not completely necessary.

yeah yeah.. just take off the negative nad do it.. nothing wil happen. .i did it all the time.. if the CEl went away.. i smiled and ripped it.. if it didnt. go to ANY auto parts store.. buy a OBD tool reader thingy majig.. and buy it... for like $100... see whats up with ur car.. and simply go back inside and return.. take all about 10 min.. and everything is great...
