    Baby seat install

ok, this is far from your standard AZ inquiry, as is evidenced by my searching the forums and finding nothing...

We have a graco baby carrier with a car seat base currently installed in my wife's jetta, but i want to install it in the Avant. Unlike the jetta (and later models of the avant), there are no baby seat anchor points between the seat and seatbacks in my 2002 (little grey circles shown below)

has anyone else installed one of these in their avant before?

this is what it looks like, and the anchor straps (kinda visible in the pic) come down through the holes at the side and clip to the hidden anchor points.

any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I don't have an avant, but you should be able to just use the seatbelts through the holes on the base. If you're really concerned about it, take it to the fire station. They'll install it properly and free.

The main thing is to make sure you use the gold seat belt hook that comes with the base. I never used the factory anchors on our car, just because I could get it pleanty tight with the factory seat belt. One thing to note, the center is the best position if you only have one child. Just because of the added amount of space on either side in case of a crash. Also, make sure to pull the seat belt out all the way until you hear a click. Then the seat belt will retract, and not be able to be pulled back out again.

The Gold seat belt hook will allow you to properly keep tension on the seat belt. If you have the factory manual for the base it should explain how to use it. Also you can visit most local fire departments, and they shoudl have someone on duty who can help.

are there any anchor points between the seatback and the bottom? My wifes golf has the anchor point behind the seat bottom. Kinda inbetween. fold the seat and take a look.
