    Hey guys i just need your help real fast to know if this is a good buy, because it is a 8 hour drive and I called him and he said one of the cats has to be replaced and the CEL light is on because of the chip, and he also mentioned that the 1st-2nd gear is sticky, sometimes hard to throw in , so please guys message me and let me know if this is a good buy and about the transmission thing. thanks in advance

    i have a 2001 nogaro blue s4 with a little under 75,000 miles it has a sunroof and all the options you would want it also has a neuspeed exhaust a power chip and a abd racing big bore intake. im asking 12,000 or best offer

    chip causes CEL since when? and 1-2 synchro may be on its way out and can be very pricey and labor intensive. I'd skip unless you can talk it down to 10k...

    oh thanks for the information around how much would the 1-2 synchro be? well he said 10.8k but i might be able to get it for 10. the only worries are the tranny and the the cat, how much it would be well the timing belt hasnt been changed either.

    i heard cats are really expensive, and the dealer will ask about $1500 for the timing belt jobby, but you could get a local shop to do it in about 2-3 hours if you brought them the $300 TB kit

    $1100 for timing belt
    $1500 for the cat it self no labor included.
    couple grand for the tranny.

    sounds like the car was beat on? 75K and the tranny is already on it's way out? unless I'm naive, do tell.

    You could have the cat's made into piggies, or buy a set from vast and exchange yours for them. they are 450 bucks, (depending where you live and having to pass emission's you will also need cel eliminators)

    I had my Timing belt done for 900 bucks.

    In regards to the syncro's goign already, to me they would only go if the car was beat on. If the car was beat on, the turbo's could be a factor too.

    So I agree its a gamble. I'd really check it over good.
