    Re: 30,000 mile service

    I'm jelous...

But to answer your question. To me its hard to say because of that low milage a lot of the major things shouldn't need replacing, but since the car no doubt has sat a lot without driving you may want to replace certain items because of age.

I guess air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs.
I'd check hoses/ TBB for cracks for possible boost leaks.
Have the DV's been replaced with upgraded 710n's?
    Coolant flush,
break fluid (mainly to get water-moisture out- bad for system)

Its probably still early for Timing belt service, but again because of how much the car has sat, you may have to factor that in as to when you replace it.

    Re: 30,000 mile service

the timing belt needs to be replaced within 60'000kms (rs4 b5) OR 5 years.
His S4 is a 2002 car: it should be replaced.

    Re: 30,000 mile service

Hey, my service thing just came on (on the drivers display). I'm at a little over 115,000 miles. What needs to be done? Or can I just VAG the car and make the service thingy go away?

    You thread jacker. jk

Anyway to answer your question, you can reset it without vag. You just push some buttons on your instrument cluster while turning the car on or something. I cant remember off the top of my head, but it explains how in the instruction manual. Do you have yours? If not I can look it up in mine when I get home. Or I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I know hehehe. I just thought I'd ask here rather than make my own thread for basically the same question. But does anyone know if I need some important things/changes done?

I have 76k miles and over 8 years. I haven't replaced the timing belt or water pump yet. I am planning on doing it this year.

    Re: 30,000 mile service

I got the servicing done for $280 at Audi and all checked out except for the front upper guide links. I did not get them done today since they would charge $640 per side. Should this be happening already? And how urgent is it to get it done soon?

    Re: 30,000 mile service

Got you beat OP... Just turned 27,800 here hehehe. And to think it would've still had ~12k on it just last year if I had enough cash to get another DD... DOHP!!

And you're right about one thing though: these cars can have just as many problems by sitting too long as if they were driving daily since birth. I'm convinced that's the root of some of my issues...

But you can't beat a mint interior!!!
