    HELP! engine overheating :(

Ok, so this morning went for a drive, while driving between my house and the highway I noticed that the air conditioning would not work properly, air came out of the vents kinda warm. Then at the highway it was cold as normal. Did some spirited driving with engine temps perfect. But when I got to the city, lights, intersection, etc. the engine would start to overheat very quickly. I shut off the engine, let it stand for a couple of minutes and the temps had gone down, drove a bit more and again it over heated. Flat-bed truck took me home. I then found that my Fans are not working! They were working yesterday since I remember giving my engine bay a check with the engine turned on.

Does anybody have an idea? I think it may be a blown fan relay... But I have no clue were its located...

I was just told by a local shop, that it could be the fan computer... that its located next to the left headlight... and that it could be a combination of the fans and fan computer and that its kinda common... has anyone heard of this being a common problem?

    Re: HELP! engine overheating :(

I had that exact same problem about a month ago, mine turned out to be the fan speed controller, which is located somewhere close to the front radiator/headlights. My insurance company covered it, but i think it was about a $400 part.

My car does not overheat at standstills anymore, but the AC still seems to warm up rarely, i dunno if it is just the FL heat overpowering it or if i still have other issues, been over 100 degrees constantly here in South FL
I've moved on from Audi to more fun, more lightweight, and more reliable products. These vehicles are so unreliable that I have been able to purchase 3 other cars in just the 6 months I have been without an Audi, due to savings alone. Other than the interiors, it won't be missed. Make a product that can hang with a spec miata in the corners, while not breaking every day past 50k miles, then look me up. Until then, you and your wack coilpacks and $37 dollar wipers can go right to hell.

If you have about 65K on your motor it is the waterpump. Have it and your timing belt replaced.

....and replace the water pump with a new one from the older model 1.8T's since they use metal impeller blades instead of crappy plastic impeller blades like the AMB (B6) water pumps.
