Well I've had the stuff sitting in my garage forever so I figured I'd use it. It wasn't cheap but i thought it'd be a pain to use. Actually it came out very nice and I'm happy with how clean the car looks. Does anyone know what the best product to use between waxes is? I thought that Zaino was incompatible with some wash solutions and quick detail sprays. I could be wrong though.
Anyway, I just took a couple of impromptu shots. Enjoy.

    Thanks.
It's Meguiars Dressing. It's can't be purchased at the store. You gotta get it from them direct.

Zaino is good stuff. Have used it for years. Use the Z-6 between applications. Works great and maintains the high gloss look very well.

    Re: Zaino Day

I used to be a Zaino nut back in 2000-2003. In 2004, I found Tropi-Care and never turned back. Actually I became an authorized dealer for Tropi-Care. Here is the website. If anyone is interested in the product, please feel free to PM or email me with any questions about the product or detailing in general.

I found the product to be easier to work with, less steps, and a better result, and best of all, cheaper.

I just bought an 2004 A4 (navy blue) last night and my girlfriend just bought a 2006 Cadillac CTS (black) a couple weeks ago. I will be (or at least plan on) detailing both of them to remove swirls, spider-webbing, and an overall cleaning to my standards. I will be posting some before/after shots as well.

I've known the "creator" of Tropi-care since the late 90's when he was my local Zaino dealer. It was rumored that he hired chemists to reverse engineer Zaino to be able to make his own product when Zaino stopped giving bulk discounts. His tropi-care product is the result.

I tried Tropi-care, and it doesn't last NEARLY as long as Zaino. The initial results are great. But after a month, I found all it's great results to diminish.

So it's which ever type person you are, is the glass half full or half empty?

Zaino: Great Results, More expensive, long protection
Tropicare: Great Results, less expensive, short protection, more long term work.

And I just about busted a gut with Tropicare's claim that some lab showed that even Dawn wouldn't removed their polish. I told them if that were true they owe me a brand new paint job. Frankly over the years, I've found the guy to be full of you know what.

The rumors regarding the reverse engineering are not true. I have had no issues with the Tropi-Care not lasting as long. I have been much happier with it over the last 4 years or so.

I have never heard that claim regarding Dawn, so I can't comment on it.

As far as the longevity claims, I would be willing to do a field test on the 2 products. If someone wants to provide me the Zaino, I would be more than willing to conduct a test. I will do half of the car with Zaino and the other half with Tropi-Care. I will do weekly washes and update it after 1 month, 3 months and 6 months without adding any polish in the meantime.

I would go longer, but I have always polished my cars on a monthly basis, even when I used Zaino.

    indeed.

what's most important: get to know the products.. a product has to work for you, not the other way around. Every detailer works differently, some will prefer Menzerna, other will vote for meguiars, and so on..

while that is true, a side by side challenge will prove it one way or another. both products will be on the same paint, with the preferred method of application.

    This is true.

I don't use Zaino currently. I still use Tropicare on my TTA because I paid for it so I'm going to use it up. Duriability isn't a big deal on the TTA, it sits in the garage under cover 97% of the year.

I bought my A4 in May and just bought Meguiars NXT because I'd heard good things about it, it was easy to buy, and I didn't want to do an extensive detail until it cools off outside.

When the weather does cool off, I'm going get something that I can use on both cars. Duriability and protection for the A4 daily driver, and show car shine on 19 year old paint for the TTA.

I've already got some ideas what I want to try, but I'm not wanting to start a firestorm here so I'll keep it to my self.

I guess that's the point, but it usually just goes into a tail spin at which my head violently spins off my neck.

    My options are:
1.) Back to Zaino with ZFX.
2.) Use Klasse AIO and High Gloss Sealant Glaze
3.) Klasse AIO and Menzerna One-step Acrylic Jacket (or FMJ)
4.) 1Z einszett Metallic Polish & Wax and 1Z einszett Glanz Wax "Hartglanz"
5.) Just say screw it, get some Meguiers Polish and go with the NXT.

I guess that is where it becomes a personal choice
