humming noise???

Normally I would assume that the tire is just unbalanced, but after swapping my set of wheels with the stockers, the humming is still there around 40mph and up. It doesnt seem to get louder, but it kinda seems a little on/off (or maybe thats just my mind). Could it possibly be the wheel bearing? Car drives straight.

from what ive read online, ill try to see if it still makes the noise making a fast turn at speed.

Sounds like the wheel bearing to me... Mines going out and it's kind of like a low humming noise, almost like engine noise.

deff a wheel bearing mine has been like that for a while same thing happened to me after i got my tires rotated

Making turns left & right at speed will work. If the noise goes away in one direction of a turn it's a wheel bearing. Make sure to buy an inner bearing, an outer bearing, and a new bearing seal. I just bought a kit for my passenger rear wheel. Can't wait for that noise to go away. It was getting in the way of my tunes.

ME tooo.... damn noise is driving me crazy.....

That IS a wheel bearing.

Did you get it fixed? I just installed new rear bearing and I'm loving it. No more humming noise from the rear of the car. Next up will be the clicking sound from the bearing failure on a upper control arm. The part is in transit and I'll get that sound fixed soon.

For some reason, I dont hear it that muhc (I guess I dont drive more than 40mph), it hasnt got to the point where I know that is it FOR SURE. But I will know when it comes.

I am having the same problem and its definately a wheel bearing. When you jack it up does the tire have any play side to side?

I'd normally suspect a wheel bearing... But, among other things, a random and inconsistant humming that almost sounds like a faint honk CAN be a bad or backwards installed DV....
