crazy deal on audi s4?

I just bought an audi s4 but i still like to look at the adds and see what i missed lol. check this out http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/798610280.html
I think its crazy only 17k miles for under 10k but it looks like there might be frame problems with the crash it had.
Why is it so cheap

It's a car that's been totaled for some reason.

I don't think that's a crazy deal considering it's a salvage car, needs work and would need the body kit removed. He also doesn't specific whether the 17k miles is on the chassis or the engine. I'm assuming it's the car but you'd want to ask.

If it's not too much work then you'd have a nice low mileage car.

I wouldn't buy that car... Mileage is too low for a 6.5 year old car, the engine is not even worked up yet imo

CEL, 'groggy' start, needs new cats after 17,000 miles?

run away. fast. if the guy was smart he'd part out the aftermarket parts and sell the car for ~$6k.

well I was thinking about it last night i was reading what was replaced he said the fenders were replaced wouldn't that mean that the frame compressed in the front and the airbags deployed. sounds like a pretty hard hit in the front

i cant belive kbb value for this car is only 13k at excellent condition so im starting to think its a fair price. i mean one with 100k miles is valued at 12k not a big difference

For a few thousand more, you could have a tight, clean car with no issues and a clean title (retains value better).

The costs of repairs could easily put you there. If you are a mechanic with a wholesale parts source, it might make sense.

I bought a prior salvage car 3 years ago. Mechanically have had very little problems, still original turbo's, has 90k on it now. Runs great.

With that said, this car does scare me. When a car sits for that much time is not a good thing for the car. It could have anything go bad but hard to tell at first because It will probably be even more high maintenance then our cars already are. Especially with the bad track record of our turbo's.

It is a good price, but still I think I would have to pass too.
