Exclamation Need quick help with a part number...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I ordered a USP bumper after work yesterday... or so I thought.

After work today I got home and looked at the invoice to double check the part numbers, only to find they don't line up with the ones listed in the 'B6 A4 Ultimate Modification Information Thread.'

    Purchased part:

'Front skirt, primed, without adhesive kit' = $707.89 w/ tax
    -- 8EO-071-609-K-9AX

Should I have instead purchased this part (= $722.92 + tax)?
    -- 8E0-807-103-M-GRU

A bit of quick help will enable me to prevent the order from being shipped (I'm guessing) if it's wrong as I was quoted up to 4 weeks for delivery.

    Thanks in advance.

You're in the USA. Parts and cars are significantly cheaper there.

As in, I put > 40,000 km on my car in 13 months and will still sell it for about what I paid.

Thanks though. Free bump, I guess.

If the part number is different than what is listed in the modification thread then you ordered the wrong bumper.

Okay, I'm going to call in a revision on the order to reflect as follows.

-- Nix the first part and order:
    Bumper cover - V8E0 807 103 AS GRU
    Lower spoiler - V8E0 807 110 B GRU

    That should cover it, no?

Parts can be sent to Canada labeled as a "gift" which keeps you from paying any duty or import tax

I have bought many parts from Greg and have had zero issues with any of my orders. I know that there were some group buys that had a lot of problems but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to buy from Greg.

Try doing a search on this guy. There are many many many many threads about him and his customer service. Many people lost hundreds of dollars and not just from group buys. I'm glad you got your parts but I wouldn't be recommending a guy who owes a lot of people on this board money.

Ive also known Greg going all the way back to 2004. Ive bought many things from him and he is a very stand up guy. Perhaps the 1,000's of perfect transactions he's had should post up to help change your opinon of him.

I really could care less how long you've known him or how many positive transactions he's had. How good is that to the people who never got their product or a refund?
Hey guys its ok that Greg took hundred of dollars from you because he has had all these other positive transactions and someone else on the board has known him for 4 yrs. Yeah, for some reason I dont think they feel better.
I'm not trying to change your mind about the guy im simply stating facts. I think the original poster might like to know there is a possibility that he'll get ripped off.
There is enough information about him on the forum and there is no need for me to ramble on. I have said my peace.

Re: Need quick help with a part number...

Tactic, the part number you have listed is for the OEM Votex lip spoiler that glues onto the front of the standard A4 spoiler. Full retail on this from the Audi dealer is about $420 and it includes the three grills. The piece comes primered and is ready to install, but it is definitely not a USP lip.

The last USP lower spoiler that I shipped to Canada (Montreal coming from California). Took 14 days to arrive from the date ordered.

Unfortunately when ordering larger items like the bumper pieces, the pacakge is oversized and must be shipped by UPS, because of this USP will charge you a brokerage fee to collect the taxes and duty that are owed to Canada, until USP make arrangments to collect the governments $$, they hold the package. There are ways to reduce the amount of fees feel free to PM me and i will explain.

I am not openly soliciting sales from anybody here on AZ, but if I am asked for a part number or a price of anything, I will gladly give a honest answer and show all of the options available to them.

The correct part number for the USP lower spoiler is 8E0 807 103 S GRU and online prices range from $170 to $190 dollars, full retail at the dealership is $235.15.

    There are three grills associated with the lower spoiler conversion, the part numbers are 8E0 807 681 C GRU, 8E0 807 682 C GRU and 8E0 807 647 D 01C

Retail prices are $40.57 each respectivly on the first two grills and $191.05 on the third, average prices online for the grills are $35-40 for the first two and $155-190 for the third.

The shipping cost to Canada for this order was $78.46, I am not sure how much UPS charged for brokers fee and duty.

This is how a typical shipment to Canada (Eastern) would take place from California:

Re: Need quick help with a part number...

So, what you are saying is that your upper bumper cover is damaged? If this is the case then you would also need part number 8E0 807 103 AS GRU, full retail at the dealer is $656.55. Typical online prices would be about $550-600.

By purchasing the upper bumper too, the size of the box changes and the shipment is considered oversized, UPS will want an additional $80 becuause of the oversize package, this will bring the shipment costs from the US to Canada to about $158.

Here's a photo for the damage to the bumper:

That should put any misunderstandings to bed.

I want to go USP on the front. What part numbers do I need? And just to be sure, I should cancel my order for the part I ordered at the stealership?

Re: Need quick help with a part number...

As Greg has said in previous posts; you will need:

    Bumper Cover: 8E0 807 103 AS GRU
    USP Lower: 8E0 807 103 S GRU
    Grills: 8E0 807 681 C GRU, 8E0 807 682 C GRU and 8E0 807 647 D 01C

If you are looking to get the WHOLE USP front then the bumper cover is a different part number correct? The parts listed above are for doing the USP conversion to a regular B6 front; meaning you have a stock front and would like to replace the bumper cover you already have and then shave away some of it (see USP conversion DIY) to make room for the usp lower spoiler which you would attach to the stock upper. please correct me if i am wrong here.

    P
The grilles I can live without as they're easy to paint and fab with mesh from Home Depot. But I need to know for sure when I go to cancel/modify my order exactly why I'm doing so.

IF I understand what you're saying, is that should I replace the stock bumper cover and use the USP lower I'll have to shave some off (as per DIY), but if I'm going to full USP front then I need a different part number?

To be perfectly honest, the grills are not easy to fab up...

Do you have any other pictures of your upper bumper? It still looks usable from the picture you posted.

If you want to call me my number is 916-705-0897 and I can answer any questions regarding the retrofit or installation of a new bumper.
