What could happen with the glass that the dealer would not cover, other than the thing breaking again? A new break would not ever be covered under warranty. Why worry about warranty in a glass situation?
The dealer can not void out your warranty for an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the part was what caused the defect. If you put in aftermarket glass and your radio breaks they can't come back and say "sorry, you put in non oe parts, your warranty is gone." There is legislation to prevent us from such b.s. Google the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
Also, the vast majority of glass repair shops can get the O.E. glass, same as what is stock at a cheaper price as an "aftermarket" part. The only difference is that it does not have the four rings. I just got mine done this morning. Both my O.E. glass and replacement glass are made by Saint Gobain.
