Re: any idea where i can tap a RPM wire?

i know our engine calibration technicians at work use a smart tach which clamps around the ignition coil wires and feeds into a RPM box.

If you have a VAG-COM, shouldnt that allow you to read engine speed? I know i have a program on my work laptop called DIAGRA that allows me to plug into the OBDII sensor and monitor a variety of variables/outputs.

What are you data logging with? EBC? Why not just use the VAG Com?
