My story: Timing belt and ECT extended warranty recalls

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I just brought my car to Jack Daniels Audi for the timing belt inspection, an ECT issue and a coolant leak.

    Timing belt:
The girl said it was cracking and dry rotted and needs to be replaced for $1,100.
So here's what that letter was all about: I pay for the first timing belt job and if something fails in the next 105k miles audi will warranty the work

    Meaningless letter

    ECT:
    Was pulling code:

    Address 17: Instruments Labels: 8E0-920-9xx-8E2.lbl
    Part No: 8E0 920 950 H
    Component: KOMBI+WEGFAHRS. RB4 D27
    Coding: 03200
    Shop #: WSC 08259
    WAULC68E12A313253 AUZ6Z0B0125475

    1 Fault Found:
    01039 - Coolant Temperature Sensor (G2)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent

It was a bad sensor and they are replacing this for no charge

    Coolant leak:
I have an oil leak. She said it's a gasket is leaking onto the coolant flange causing this issue. (tension slea valve) ( $400+800) to replace.

I would like to thank JD Audi for providing me this info, and providing me a free loaner car.

I will be shopping online for these parts and bring them to my local shop in the next week or 2.

Any comments on the parts or how to fix the oil/coolant leak is appreciated

Wait you have to pay for the first TB job? Wasn't this thing faulty in the first place? That doesn't sound right.
