Sounds like you're chirping tires. I've heard this is the loudest DV on the market. True?

From what I have heard installing it in reverse, switching the charge and return around, will further "enhance" the sound of it. no idea if its true.. try it and see what happens.

Don't aftermarket valves need to be installed reverse of the stock ones anyways?

Most piston type valves are designed to have the boost pressure at the bottom of the valve. The bottom of the piston in the Evo valve is also designed to help the piston seal. Installing it with the boost hitting the bottom of the piston also increases how quickly the valve opens.

Changing the way you have it installed shouldn't change the way it sounds since the air is till flowing thru the same spot in the valve and past the bottom of the piston.

Re: Evo MS diverter valve sound

    thanks for the info mike

so diaphragm-style valves such as the APR diverter are best installed normally, and piston valves are most optimal with the pressure hitting the bottom of the piston rather than the side?

Re: Evo MS diverter valve sound

i put a cone filter setup in my car today and now i can hear it for sure. i like it a lot, the sound is actually a lot quieter than i anticipated, which is good because if it was really loud it would be annoying.
