anyway, if someone knows what could be the problem... someone said the timing could be off, but the bently just says to mark the pullies.. I want to sell it...

Does anybody know if there are marks on the pullies themselves so if I take a look at the timing I will be able to tell if its off? ( the bentley is kinda vague)

Yea. There is a timing mark on the Cam Sprocket; that mark MUST match with the mark on the Valve cover. The crank sprocket has a mark (either sprocket or the pulley) which MUST line up with the mark on the black plastic cover for the Crank Sprocket (gear).

If you line that up once, spin the motor a revolution clockwise by hand using a breaker bar for example to see if both marks line up exactly the same.

Ok well, I put a replacement engine in my car and when it was all said and done, it feels like there is no bottom end- it's got no guts. It feels super slow and I am not getting any more than 2-3psi (I think-guage is off) going up hill's is the worst, if I start out from a stop I can't get over 30mph. No ce light or codes. I thought of timing because of it not having any torque and the tb kit and wp was changed a few thousand miles ago by the po.
And I was meaning if I go to check the timing marks and they line up, then when I hand crank it a rev and they are off what would be the problem?

Well, it could be many things. You need to take it to AutoZone and have it checked for codes as there will be some stored.

Disconnect the battery, then connect it back in after a minute. Turn on ignition for about a minute; then start the car. Go for a drive and post back on results.

sounds less like timing and more like turbo/boost issues, of which there are multiple culprits... waiting to hear the results of a vag scan. When the wastegate flap on my turbo was going, it slowly boosted less and less until the flap finally broke. During the low boost process, the car felt exactly like you are describing

its your turbo!!!! check your wastegate and see if the flap is open, it happened to me. If the wastegate is good then your turbo took a dump.

open your hood, have someone press the gas pedal to build pressure, then you check the driver side intercooler to throtle body hose and see if it inflates, like its got pressure in it while is high reving.

But I am with the other guys here seems to be your wastegate is stuck open and the car will not prodice boost.

well I put this turbo on a few months back thinking the one on the car was shot and it was doin the same thing. wastegate looked good, but it was used so I guess I could have had 2 bad turbos.

check if the turbo is building boost. i told you how to do it. have someone step on the gas (car in neutral) and you check if the driver side intercooler hose inflates like when a snake breathes.

my guess, in order of likelihood:

1. turbo
2. N75
3. ICM
4. timing

the majority of other things that would cause this, I think, would throw a CEL. You're describing something very similar to what I experienced when my ICM went bad.

Does it sound/feel like it's healthy when you drive it? My car was hesitating and bucking, not smooth at all.

It does feel like it's hesitating a little when driving normal, but I've been driving it like this for months and I'm not sure anymore. I checked the n75 (from the bentley) and it was within spec but different numbers(ohms iirc) than another I have, so I might swap it out and see what happens. ALSO- will the turbo have an effect on low rps's, like taking off in 1st? It feels like if I don't do it just right, it will either stall or burn up the clutch. I'm gonna have to have one of these guys around pit drive it or something to see what I mean.

check the ICM. It's right above your airbox and it takes like 10 min to swap it out with a friend's. It would have a huge impact on taking off in first... but it's pretty noticeable and I doubt you'd drive the car for months if it was that bad.

Nevertheless, a few minutes is worth it.

ok I just went wot earlier (I guess I never really did before) but anyway it went to about5psi and then I couldn't get it to do it again till I shut the car off and took another drive. Could I have a boost leak that won't throw a code?

When I put the turbo in months ago(it was used) it was tight (unless it wasn't tight enough?) and still acting the same as it is now... so ? I did swap out the n75 for another one yesterday and still same deal.
