I was one of the few that braved the weather yesterday to go drive. I brought 2 buddies, one of which has an 08 M3. We were both BLOWN AWAY by how well the quattro handled the rain on the track. I put it through it's paces, they let us do quite a few laps since they weren't busy. I had a LOT of fun. Will be signing up for the R8 in Homestead.

Was there today and I had a blast I pushed that A4 so hard trying to loose it a bit and it wont budge. The quattro is amazing! I was also impressed with how well the car is balanced now and the paddle shifting was a lot of fun!

i'd call it at most a 20% improvement handling wise over the B7 3.2Q sport auto. kind of a sparse showing from what i could tell when we got there at 1:40.

a true manual transmission would have been better. one also has to keep in mind that the road surface was aircraft grade grit for very high adhesion and grip. you'd never drive on a surface like this, ever. as a result, the cars gripped better than they ever would in the real world. i could see how beat up the tires were.

i think i shaved 15% of the tires' treads on my third pass alone when i drifted her around the final curve.

I was there at 1:40 with Juan.. were u there with your wife asking them if the had manual cars available and they said no. This was right before u went for the track course?I was right there in the room talking to an associate in the red polo shirt!

I got there around 1:30ish. that was alot of fun, the instructor even commented on my driving skills as I pushed her to the limits on those turns. (I think it was really that they didn't expect a girl to really push it like that lol) The guys were dropping their jaws when I came back round.

Drove up to Orlando from Western Ft. Lauderdale for the fun of it... top down through rain showers, etc. Sean gave me a perfunctory "hot lap," which got me dizzier than a
90-degree banked turn in a Piper Cherokee.

This car holds the road like it's on rails coated with Gorilla glue. Then it was my turn. Wherever I pointed the steering wheel is where the car went, no ifs ands or buts. I was told I could spend a few more laps than normal because there were not long waits for the experience, but all I really needed was two laps to see that Audi is way ahead of the competitors in their latest offerings.

As an aside, I ran my second street speed race this morning. A new 335i BMW coupe wanted to play with me for a change. He got on it first... as did the G35 Infiniti a couple weeks ago... and could not pull away from me either. If I would have floored it around the turn we both negotiated together...rolling start... I would have had him or ran even up.

So I guess my 2.0 liter turbo is coming along fine. Next trip to the tuner will bring on an intercooler and after that it's the Garrett dual scroll turbo. Then the 335's will be sucking my twin exhaust four-tipped fumes for sure. Don't get me wrong, I rarely street race, but after all the speed work I had performed, w/o a dyno run, I wanted to get an idea of the HP figures for my vehicle. I estimate, so far, 275 horsepower... just the same number of the upcoming TT-S. Suffice it to say I am spending a lot less for my speed and I'm getting it sooner. Not a bad deal for this project car.
