    Startup Question

So I recently diagnosed a starting problem, turns out that I needed to replace my speed sensor. Before this the car would sometimes start and sometimes it wouldn't. Each time it would crank but not turn over so I thought slightly tapping on the gas would get her to fire. Well this worked one time but i was flooring the gas pedal so when she started up, I had blue smoke come out of the exhaust. Would this be normal when revving on a cold engine/turbo?

Blue smoke? Does that smoke smell sweet at all? What type of oil and coolant are you using?

    Re: Startup Question

no it wasn't sweet. It would've been if I had changed the coolant temp sensor that day i'm sure. I use synthetic oil every 2500 miles and G12 coolant I believe is the type. The turbo is oil cooled right? I'm thinking revving it really high on a cold engine would cause that but then I'm not sure and trying to figure it out. It was only that once and I let the engine warm up before I drive so I haven't seen the smoke or revved the car since I fixed the problem.

Yeah its prolly since you did that on a cold start. Do not rev the engine out when it's cold, it's bad for the motor.
