Finally Put my order in!!!!

Hey guys, Ive gone back and forth for a few months now on what to get, and Finally I made the move, my A4 crapped out on me the other day(not its first time, and it only has 70k on it!!!) so I decided to part it out..(let me know if you want anything!) I finally went down today and put together my A5(as long as the numbers on it come out right)...

2009 A5:
-6 spd
-S-line package
-Bang and Olfson
-Navigation
-ipod Interface
-Black on Black with alcantara inserts and silver stitching
-Premium Package
...I didnt get the intigence package, do you guys think its worth the 1700???(pointing out, I wouldnt use the camera, and I hate the idea of being able to unlock the car if im within a certain range)............... Im soposedly getting it for 49k out the door, sound reasonable? Its about 800 off sticker...

The date of delivery is late march/or april... But I want it to be there because I want get the car when it starts getting nice out, I mean why get the car in the middle of the winter....

As for why not an S5, why get one? the A5 has plenty of pick up, is cheaper then the S5 by 5 grand, which isnt much but when Im stretching just to get this I cant stretch anymore and lastly, the V8....Id kill myself with it, cause I would wanna go MTM supercharged(which I cant afford haha) and then I would let my ego get in the way and next thing you kno, or theres my obituary in the paper... I think the A5 will do just fine for what I need...

I have been told Audi is doing something with the VINs now so dealers can differentiate S-line from base and get other info going by VIN. This is supposed to help with residual value down the road.

As far as leasing, I can tell you that the $699 lease special on the S5 that I've seen in banner ads is probably impossible to get without putting $8000 down or something similar.

I am leasing but Im doing what they call a "one pay", Im cutting the check when I pick up the car and then I dont have a car payment for the entire time I have the car... basically this car will be leased until I graduate college and then I will get another car or buy this one out... The one pay gives me a better rate then a regular lease and they think that Audi may come out with something this winter when the orders start to slow down so its not too bad...

and the residuals thing is getting taken care of now... the sline residual gets bumped by a few points now

o btw one last thing I switched dealers to Audi of Stratum, Harry Robinson(who i kno from audi of nashua) took great care of me and is gunna do 1250 below sticker for the car...

If you can afford to do one-pay, it's pretty nice. But then again, if you can afford that lump sum up front then it almost makes says to put it towards a loan down payment instead.

but what if you have a lump sum cause you sold your car and thats all you have and you dont want another payment... then the one pay sounds nice hahaha... if i put 20k down on the car the loan payment would still be about 600 a month... Id rather not have that payment throughout college...

I just priced out the A5 with the options you've listed on carsdirect and got an MSRP of $49,165. How accurate is carsdirect?

49k out the door sounds pretty good to me for a loaded A5.

(btw in response to anthony, is an audi ever really conservative haha? just kidding, I am conservative in everything else but my cars, I love cars and I love audis, if they were 10k I would buy em, or if they were 100k I would still have one)

It wasn't so long ago that I'd put my car above almost anything. They've long been my passion and my hobby. These days though I'm more focused on having a garage to park those cars in before anything else.

Having said that though, the woman and I will soon be looking at the B8 A4 sedan vs an A5, and what leases are currently looking like vs financing. Times have certainly changed in recent months in regards to what the banks are and aren't offering.

Does the one pay effect GAP insurance? I know that you lose a down payment on a lease if your car gets totalled. I think anyway. Just wondering if you get any of that back if something bad happens.

Gap is built in and if I total it then I get the money that hasnt been used yet back... that means if I drive it for two months and then total it I will get what would be the other 22 months worth back in a check from audi... I was worried about losing all the money too so I was glad to here that leases have changed a little so that doesnt happen....
