    Re: Just ordered

directions for the short shifter should be on the B&M website

as far as the grill, just pop out the old one, there are plastic taps you can see from the inside and pop the old one in. it should take you a solid 30 seconds. just a heads up on that particular grill, it doesnt seem to have any place for the hood latch, which could make things interesting. i think you might have to dremel a hole for it.

    Re: Just ordered

I had gotten what looks like the same grill you did. The hood wouldnt even close due to lack of hole for the latch and the fitment was so horrible that I didnt even bother with it. Hope yours is better lol. Being a noob is a PITA

    Re: Just ordered

my install was a pain in the ass. your going to need a drill to get to two of the screws in order to take out whole shifter assembly. that and pay attention to the shift linkage before you take it off. just a few things i wish i knew before i did my install.

I didn't need any drill? If I remember I used a socket, allen wrench, and maybe a screw driver. Oh and a magnetic thing will help when you drop the screws below the shift assembly.

    Re: Just ordered

So the grille needed some modification, just needed to cut a small chunk out for the hood latch. Used a dremel and it turned out great, ill post pics as soon as i find a camera. Short shifter took some time, but definitely worth it, although i bet the JHM is nice as hell.

    Re: Just ordered

should of unhooked the 'button' that comes out of the grill and just reached under the hood and pulled the metal lever when you popped the hood. no reason to cut that grill. i love the none hole look.

    Re: Just ordered

I've seen people bend the hood latch straight (downwards), im guessing when you pop it you can reach under and push it forward

more than a shifter. Its a whole kit that replaces more than just the shifter.

How did you like your JHM? I am not worried so much about throw reduction as just better precision. I am planning on ordering in the next week or so and cant wait, it just looks so damn well built..

    Re: Just ordered

i got the same shifter and same grille.. for the latch i just bent it down and when i pop it i can reach from under and pull it. the shifter took like 30 mins to install and much better than stock. for the money i like it a lot. never driven the jhm personally but i might be upgrading if someone buys it off my christmas list. lol

JHM piece is the best I've shifted with and owned. I had a B&M I was always having to readjust. Neuspeeds is also nice, but not JHM nice and crisp. I would grab all their items (linkage and bushing as well). I am one of those people on here with everything upgraded and replaced and the JHM brought it even more together than ever. The linkage is probably even more noticable on it's own, but I did all 3 at once.
