    Warranty on wipers blades???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey fellas. Pretty new to posting on the forum.

I bought my 2004 A4 back in April. Towards the end of May I picked up a new set of wiper blades from the dealer. Now 3 months or so later, they have become really streaky. I was wondering, is there some kind of warranty on the blades so I can get them replaced or am I just SOL because this is just the quality that the dealer sells? Thanks in advance.

if your '04 is still under warranty you can probably get wipers replaced for free, i did. only problem is that they'll have to be broken first, they won't give you a new set for streaking (it's doubtful). if you plan on getting new blades either way, just break one of them and bring 'em on in to see if they'll hook you up. it's worth a try because knowing audi they're mad expensive!

Don't know if it would help, but also try cleaning the blades and the windshield really good and see if that doesn't correct things. If all else fails, get new aero wipers if you already didn't have them.

    Re: Warranty on wipers blades???

I've had this issue w/ drivers side Aero wipers since I've owned the car. Two sets of wipers since January this year.
Best thing to do is use rubbing alchohol to clean the wiper blade (for some reason this works). You have to do it every week or so, though =(
I'd imagine this speeds the rubber deterioration on the wiper as well.
I'm doing the wiper arm conversion as soon as I get around to it so I can experiment w/ different wiper brands.
    Bottom line is OEM=Suck

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to see if I can treat them with rubbing alcohol or some Rain X type stuff as a quick fix and then see about converting to the Aero blades. Been doing some research here on the forums and for the most part people seem to prefer those.

Don't use RainX, it leaves a film on your windshield that collects dirt and makes it super hard to clean it.

Wipe the blades with rubbing alcohol every time you wash the car or every other time and you will be ok. I've done that on like all of my cars that I've owned.
