o2 sensor woes, what blocks to log???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well this is now the 4th o2 sensor i have put into the secondary bank2 slot. The first 3 were universal Bosch 5 wire, and this one is an OEM Audi one. Every time I get the same exact code for the sensor

17548 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B2 S2: Internal Resistance too High
    P1140 - 35-00 - -

Is there certain blocks I can log to figure out the issue at hand or does anybody else know what the issue could be. I have AWE downpipes with no cats, but o2 spacers, which is not what is causing this issue as it is due to the resistance of the o2 not the actual readings. Any input would be appreciated as I am at a total loss at this point.

Re: o2 sensor woes, what blocks to log???

The fault pertains to the heater element of the sensor. Universal O2's are junk anyways so I'm not surprised to you had issues repeatedly. You can use block 41 and 42 to log heater circuit resistance. Though considering the monitoring and self testing strategy for O2's and catalytic converters that newer audi's and vw's use, the car will be able to test the O2's better than anyone ever could. Basicly when these cars say the o2's are bad, they're generally bad. The only exeption being if you had the same fault for all or corresponding pairs, then there could be a couple of other problems.

You also wana make sure the harness connector is perfectly clean, though to this day I have never needed to repair or clean a harness connector on a newer audi or vw. That doesn't neccesarily mean anything though considering we don't don't really have much for issues with corrosion in this neck of the woods.

You'll probably be fine with a new OE replacement bosch O2. Something else to consider, O2's should generally get replaced in corresponding pairs.

All o2's have been replaced but this is the only one giving me an issue, the one on it right now is an OEM o2 and still, I am getting the same code, I am almost positive the problem lies elsewhere. The o2 wiring had once melted on the downpipes, I am not sure if that could have anything to do with it.

So are there any wiring repairs in the cars harness, not the wires that are part of the sensor.
Though it could have very well caused some further damage when the wires had melted. The O2's get their power supply for the heater circuit from a common source and the heater circuit on/off switching is regulated directly by the ECM.
You're definitely on the right track by loging the heater circuit measuring blocks.

the harness from the o2 to the connector is new, so that is not the issue, Does anybody know the voltages it should be getting I can meter the values and see if one is off.
