    What does the Fuel / Distance Recalibration VAG do? Hopefully I am asking this correctly...

    Hopefully this is what you are looking for - the VAG-COM/VCDS software provides an ability to adjust the calculation of fuel consumption so that the numbers displayed in the DIS accurately reflect the actual fuel consumption. Variability in calculation occurs because the sensors used for fuel flow and distance are not calibrated identically on all vehicles i.e there will be some small manufacturing tolerances for all sensors. On my vehicle I needed a +3% correction to get my display reading closer to actual, meaning the default consumption setting (100%) was showing 3% lower than actual

    Go here and find someone in your geographical neighbourhood to help you out. Folks registered on that site (including myself) are all prepared to help others with VAG-COM/VCDS adjustments.
