    Re: Rear Calipers! HELP!!

At this point you can either source a replacement caliper or pull it off and rebuild it on a workbench. I'd try rebuilding it first. If a low level factory worker can assemble it so can you.

    Re: Rear Calipers! HELP!!

I just did my GLI brakes last week end, fun! haha. So easy once you have done it once.

You are clamping the piston, while trying to turn right? Needs to have pressure to get it to go in.. I am sorry if this is all obvious to you... it was my first brake job. I had to clamp, turn, clamp tighter, turn, tighter, turn...

Do you have the brake reservoir cap off and emerg/parking brake disengaged (with wheels blocked)? I am not sure if the cap needs to be off to do the job, but it was suggested to me and it all went well.

HTH, but onemoremile's suggestion is likely closer than my thought.

    Re: Rear Calipers! HELP!!

The piston screws in and out but you'll need to apply pressure while turning. You can see by looking at the caliper tool and how it is used the size of the screw. That should give you an idea how the piston moves.

I should get this kit with the number of rear brakes I've done and it sucks to do with a c-clamp, but it gets done.

Dude I've rebuilt half a dozen A4 rear calipers, not hard.

AutoHausAZ has the "rebuild/seal" kits for $5.83

Doesn't look like a rebuild is warranted?
