Okay so i have had my car 7 months now... it is a USP with unpainted lowers light silver on top... so far i have done a GIAC chip with big injectors... i just don't know what to do next i have been thinking of 3 things but i just wanted other peoples input... Intake and diverter valve at the same time... or full exhaust from the turbo back... if i did the exhaust i was gonna do either a test pipe or high flo cat but wouldn't that throw a check engine light? thanks for any input..

haha don't worry, btw welcome to AZ

If I were you I would do a custom exhaust with a test pipe and Magnas 14851 (just like my exhaust) .... the test pipe really makes a huge difference, and it's only around 100-160.

    Re: What To Do Next???

I had my lowers painted. you should do a DV. I had mine done the My friend had the same thing done and did not replace the DV and it went out. You could do an intake, although the stock one is good enough. I installed a Carbonio because I like popping the hood. I also have a full Magnaflow exhaust which I had less then a month after purchasing the car 3 years ago. I am also still running the stock intercooler. I like the way the front end looks the way it is. I don't really want to cut the bumper. I hope this helps.

i was thinking about doing a full techtonics exhaust with a test pipe but i am worried that it would make a check engine light? does it not do that? or is there a way to get around it making one?

    Re: What To Do Next???

You might want to change your stock DV with an oem (710N) for $45 or a aftermarket one for about $140. And I would look for an intercooler. It will help drop intake air temperature and the heat soak, either a front mounted one or a 30% bigger Apikol smic.

    and welcome!

    Re: What To Do Next???

Do you plan on staying stage 1+ or going k04, BT, BAT...
Your decision should be based on how far you want to go with the modding. AWE, ER, racetec are quality products. A DSMIC is also an option if you like the stealth look. Just stay away from the ebay stuff. Search the forum, there's a lot of information on here.

i at least plan on doing a ko4... but from what i hear once i do that i will eventually wanna go BT... i know that eventually i will wanna do a FMIC cause i love how they look but i think that is a little premature at this point maybe??

right now i have been looking at some stuff on AWE trying to see if i can tune down my car to try and save gas and then tune it back up when i feel like driving like an idiot?? any way to do that??

    Here:
you can buy used dv like forge 007 or new 710N + custom exhaust (prolly 1/2 of the price of the brand name exhaust) + save a bit for the fmic.

    thanks,
The difference in night and day. From a 16.8ish 1/4 mile to about a 14.8ish 1/4 mile. DONT QUOTE ME ON THIS! I dont have the injectors yet, but I just have the regular GIAC tune and I'm running right at a 15.2 1/4 mile with my FWD. All you have to do is buy 380CC injectors and find a shop around you that does GIAC and there ya go!

i love the chip... and i am running 440cc injectors... but now i have an intake dv and full exhaust... so i am a little faster then i was with the chip... but even running just the chip was night and day... more pick up more throttle response louder turbo spool... well worth the money in my opinion...

440cc injectors? how? we run 386cc for this. First get the right injectors, 2nd read the noob guide and start planning suspension, sway bar, intercooler, exhaust, test pipe, turbo inlet pipe, throttle body hose, DV, and then go BT.

you can probably wait until spring for an intercooler upgrade, it's cold in Utah. go with an upgraded DV and a Magnaflow Exhaust system for under $600. I have a Hyperboost DV for sale if you want (cheap & excellent condition), just send me a message if you're interested.

DV will hold your boost better and an FMIC just makes a great power difference, and makes for some sick looks.

figure i'll post this for ya... http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102671
check that out.. do what ya want. everyone here runs dif stuff. it's up to you to decide what you want. you dont want to have a car just like anyones on here.. or maybe ya do. they say stay away from ebay, but dont be affraid to just look. you would be suprised at what's there.. imo, that's the place to go for a test pipe @ $110. if u'r lookin for anything specific, SEARCH, then ask. there's lots of ppl here that love to help but they are only suggestions.. it's up to you what you want to do w/ u'r audi. be creative. mod your car they way you like it, dont not do something cuz someone says it's dumb or stupid. with that said, here is my opinion on what to do next.

get that intercooler. it will help. anything to take the place of the factory smic is better. your intake is great... not worth changing. all this power is going to mean a new clutch sooner or later... start saving for a good one now. upgrade that dv pronto!! a piece that inexpensive that will save the life of u'r turbo?? a nobrainer..
<--------yes, i used my audi to drag my deer out of the woods. it was heavy, i was cold, car had heat, much less work, and frankly, it was far. the deer was big, i am not, just seemed like the right thing to do. if it werent for the apr2+ i may not have been able to pull that monstrosity out of the woods w/out a helicoptor. i cant afford a helicoptor, i have a hard enough time affording my audi. all this being said, yes. that is an apr2+ awd audi pulling a deer out of the woods.
