    headlight, LED, light caulking issue.

    Hey guys,

As many of you know I recently installed S6 LED's on my car. I had to shave the backs of the them down in order to avoid hitting the intercoolers. On one LED stip, the caulking did not take fully and it fogged up the LED housing. This is exactly the same as the CC mod and the caulking not taking so I figured you guys would be able to help me.

The fog and water has finally all disappeared and seems to have evaporated from inside the LED housing. If I caulk the whole now, if it gets hot, will any remaining water particles inside the housing be affected if it is finally air tight? I know some water particles are probably too small for me to see, so will I be ok to just seal it up now without having to worry that something already inside will be affected?

I assume it is ok to caulk again because people do the CC mod in all types of weather and the inside of the headlight is unaffected once the holes are clogged. But I just need some help to be sure. Thanks guys.

rob the led's look tight. where are you living next year?

can you take it out and blow it with a hairdryer for a while and then recaulk it? thats what i did to my headlights to make sure there was no moisture before i caulked them

Thanks man. I'm livin in my fraternity house next year off 460. We'll have to meet up when we get back.

How long did you take the hair dryer to it? I was afraid that I would overheat the lense and it would start coming apart from the housing.

I've driven it around and the car has been sitting in the garage. Would I be good then?

Keep the affected LED in the passenger compartment for a couple of days, whilst using the aircon.

Aircon air is pretty dry, and should remove even the tiniest amount of moisture. I'm not an advocate of the hairdryer / applied heat method.
