    Custom Exhaust

i searched but couldnt find anything. Right now i have a neuspeed catback exhaust. The setup came with the car when i bought it, and i think it is time for a change now.

I was looking to do a tru dual custom exhaust, is this hard to do? I have someone that will mandrel bend the 3' stainless steel piping. Anybody know where i can get some setup specs and so forth, or have any advice on how to go about it. I cant see this set up costing 1100 dollars like the awe twin1 system.

So any and all help would be greatly appreciated, i am looking to do something pretty soon. Thanks in advance

3' piping is kinda big for a dual exhaust, no?

    Re: Custom Exhaust

i wouldnt go any bigger than a dual 2.5 inch or a single 3.5 sounds a bit over kill for k04s and definitely overkill for stock ko3's

Places like summit racing sell pipes. It aint cheap. If you've got a friend that's invested in a mandrel bender, I'd hit him up first to see if he maybe has a source to get it a little cheaper.

Check out verociousmotorsports.com for stainless piping, I got all the piping for my custom 3.5 exhaust from them. Don't pay any attention to anyone who says any size is too big either, my 3.5 sounds great and flows great

I think the size DOES matter in this case.

Keep in mind he's talking about a true dual exhaust here, not single piping.

    Re: Custom Exhaust

ture dual might work with 2.25" but i think any bigger will make the fitment too tight. IMO you'd have better sound/same performance if you went 3" cat back....

if you want cat back do something like 2 hi flow cats into >- singe 3" all the way back.
you can find a exhaust shop and a lot of times if you go in and ask the guy working up front if they do custom stuff, they will sometimes say yes tell them what you want to do and it will be a lot cheaper than 1100. mine only cost me about 300 including the muffler.

i dont know exactly what all the awe has if it is turbo back. my guy with the pipe bender said it would be way too hard to do the full turbo back, since it is a tear drope looking flange.

    Re: Custom Exhaust

i didnt do any bending, i bought pre bent pieces, then cut and welded the parts. essentially its like this (starting at downpipe-catback connection, and going backwards to the tips) straight > s bend > straight > s bend > straight > tips
