Getting married and 2 of my toys have to go, the S4 and my Supercharged mk3 jetta. There is a good trade off for me in doing this tho. I get to buy a new Toy next yr once we tie the knot.....

Do u guys think i'll have problem selling the S4, here are the details.
Bought this car recently (month ago) from a friend who babied this car. The car was purchased by him in Dallas early 2002.
I just completed all the matinace and a few minor upgrades to finish off the car, have receipts to prove it.

    Specifications:
    2001.5 Imola/Gray S4 Tip
37,600 miles, with oil changes done every 3,000 with redline 5w-30
The waterpump and timingchain were done early by the previous owner when he replaced the alternator with a oem one (at TyrolSport @ 33,500mi)..

    Things i just did:
    Matinace: (500miles ago)
Control arms kit (from PureMS), Full Tune-up: Coolant flush, Platinum plugs, Cabin filter, AfterRun coolant sensor (OEM), oil change.
    Upgrades: (500miles ago)
AWE side mount intercoolers, Samco hose kit, H-sport swaybar kit, ToyGuy V1 stealth display, APR Stage2+ software (update done by APR themselves @ waterfest),

    -H-sport swaybar kit

    -APR Submount

    -Formula 1 tint
    -Alpine NAV (in passanger visor)

    Extras (included):
-OEM RS4 bumper w/ OEM fogs (unpainted, worth $1,500)
    -B6 S4 stock rims (18" 235-40-18 toyo TS1 w/2000miles)
    -B5 S4 stock rims (Bridgestone LMs )
    -OEM Car cover
-V1 steath mount display (V1 unit not included)

    Flaws on the car:
-Dent #1 pass-side rain gutter, quater size (from piece of hail in Dallas)

I'm sure i forgot something, the car needs nothing.
The price is 16,500 Firm. Sorry, not interested in any trades and car will not be parted out.
The car is clean in and out, everything works as it should.
The reason for sale, i'm getting married so the toy has to go, my loss your gain.

I think you'll struggle selling any S4, especially a tip. You may luck out and find someone who's really looking for a nice low mileage, but your price puts you in contention with relatively low mileage Stage 3 cars.

Hard times are comming up soon so you won't get much... People go by blue book regardless of mods... I just sold my 2001 A4 1.8t highly modded and very clean for just $6,500... It has been on the market for roughly 7 months... Been trying a full year to sell it for an asking price of $7200...

Yeah you don't really get much for aftermarket parts... You would get much more if you paarted out some parts (assuming you have the OE) on the car but you said you weren't doing that so. Don't expect too much. Yeah and it's tip...

Not entirely true. It depends on the car. Low mileage B5 S4s are not easy to come by these days. A4s are a dime a dozen and you're 2001 has been replaced with newer better generations of A4s (this is not true of the S4; most Audi enthusiasts would rather have the bi-turbo over the v8 anyday). Seems like someone makes this comment everytime somebody sells their car on here. Just be patient, someone who is really in the market for a tip S4, will pay over blue book for your car (assuming those dents aren't too bad and everything is as you say it is).

Re: Selling car, how's the market...

yea, the dents aren't bad at all and you can't notice them unless u look for it.
The car over all is clean. I have 2 pic's that were taken at waterfest, but i can't seem to post them up. I'll be taking more this weekend.
The price of 16,500 is book value for excellent, good is about 15,200 off kbb and edmund's. Trade in value is where the price really dips 13 or so.
Not in a rush to sell overall, i would hold out for the right buyer. Plus i would still get to use the car on the weekend till it's gone. Not a bad thing.
It's just sad i have to let a clean example of a low mile s4 go within a month of buying it.
The good thing is, I get to replace it next yr after all the wedding expense is taken care of..... There are so many cars coming out in 09-10 to choose from.
