So i blew a coilpack on the way home yesterday. Left the car at a local hotel and hitched a ride home because i didn't have any spares.

Today i go to the dealer to buy some new ones.

$80 EACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You hear about post like this and i wonder the same thing. Supposedlly coilpacks don't good bad that often, so i've heard from a couple people. But i've replaced aleast 4 of mine but never has it had me on the side of the road.

The shock is the dealer wants $80. Just a few months ago it was only $42 from the dealers here. You can get them much cheaper at VW dealers or online ofcouse.

Always carry spares. Very common for them to blow, although I've only lost 1 in two years (knock on wood).

I am fully aware how often they blow....it's part of "VW Owner Orientation." i am just pissed of the gouging they are doing. It's insane. it was Russel VW if anybody wants to know. VERY Suspect. I am going to stock at ECS.

yea, i picked them up from hbl for $45 each. $80 is definitely up there, especially from a vw dealer.

Honestly though, my friend who let me borrow her Buick (oh yeah, big pimpin) lives like 100yds from Russel. Luckily, i still need to pick up some spares so I'll roll by and pick em up from you guys.
