i hate people. Stupid people out there man. That sucks about your car, i would have thought he would have learned from his DUI not to drive drunk anytime soon again, or better yet... not do it again at all! But apparently his need to get drunk surpasses his better judgement.

    Re: DAMN drunk drivers

How much insurance did he have? You're in Pa, so it may be different, but in California minimum liability is $15K/30K. $15K per incident with a maximum of $30K. So if he hit the garage of a house, it may take a chunk off of his coverage. You're lucky he has insurance, I was hit by an illegal, driving not only drunk w/o insurance, but also w/o a license. Took his truck and plowed right through the B pillar. Luckily, my car was there or he'd had been in my garage and totalled my wife's van...that would mean the end of his life then if my wife woke up to that crap! LOL

    Re: DAMN drunk drivers

It appears the drunk driver damaged the rear of your molded wide-body kit... and that pearl is really tough to match, requiring a full re-spray of the car... and is that dented BBS LM I see in that photo? Others may be bent as well from the impact...

What a shame, he was too drunk to see any of this...

I don't advise milking insurance companies...I do advise milking bad drivers so they're forced to ride bicycles...

The fiist effect after a drink of alcohol, is compromised judgement, even before any other effects are appearent.

well there are more factors than just how much liability he has in pa. because if he doesnt have enough we can go after his property to settle up.

duh lol. I meant before he even started drinking. He must have poor judgement because his DUI should have showed the sober him, wow maybe i shouldn't drink so much. But he's obviously an alcoholic so his need to drink outweighed his better judgement. That's what i meant. Obviously every time he drinks he gets shit faced seeing as how he got a DUI, and now hits a parked car and a house.

    Actually you are wrong,

    XXX/YYY/ZZZ

The X = Per Person Medical Coverage
The Y = Agg total Medical Coverage
THe Z = Property Damage Coverage

There for The Z would be the coverage in this case not the X & Y like stated above.

This is also the reason why people have no clue what they buy when the get insurance and why they bitch a moan when something is not covered because they didn't find it necessary to:

    A: Read the Policy

B: Understand the policy, or ask questions until you know what your buying

    C: Reviewing the policy

Good luck milking the company for any money, you would be lucky to get the minimum. If he just got a DWI a few months back 9 out of 10 he is now with the worst type of insurance company and they won't pay jack. Good luck but you’re going upstream with a 600lb fatty in your boat and no paddle.

the house was just a bit of siding ripped off and the spouting in one place. he sideswiped the house before heading to his place on his rim (he popped his tire when he hit my car)

Sorry, I guess I got a bit too general. But for the record, I do understand my own policy...LOL I don't have the state minimum, because I am not a turnip...yes, you're right, Bodily injury/Property Damage.

Oops, sorry...seriously good luck. I think most reputable shops now a days try to stay on the up and up. I had a drunk driver rear end me on a Toyota Tacoma (I guess you are getting the picture why I hate drunks that drive )
and even with the arrest, this was his third offense, Airforce Airman. Was insured...When I brought my car into the shop, the body shop did only what was necessary. My rear bumper which originally was thought to be tweaked, they later on "modify" the work order claiming the rear bumper was fine. I had a set of Waag taillight covers which they replaced because he bent that when he clipped me with his Jeep, but nothing extra at all. I even had to fight the shop to replace the "TRD Offroad" Sticker!

that's why i went with the a4 as well. Lowered my gas costs, ins., and at the same time gave me awd for snowboarding season and the always drenched washington roads. Totally don't regret it one bit. But the degree i'm going for is focused on cars anyway so i'm thinking i might just be a little bit of a fanatic haha. Industrial Engineering Vehicle Design here at Western Washington University. And i hope to go for my doctorate, so i'm not even close to being done. Just about to start my 2nd year

A lot of insurance companies will insure DUI/DWAI drivers with SR-22 so the company isn't necessary a bad one. IMO, at worst they will send out their estimator and he'll low ball you by locating all of your parts used if he can. So you'll at least get enough to fix it if you were to buy a used rear which is pretty stupid but you should just put the money they give you towards a USP rear or some aftermarket rear.
