ABS, Traction control & hand brake light on

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey all,

So i was driving on the highway last night & my ABS, Traction control and Hand brake light came on. The handbrake light was flashing constantly but the ABS & traction control light was on solid. After re-starting the car, the lights went away. Any idea what could cause thing? Any help would be great!

Also, i was doing a bit of reading and saw it could be a dirty abs sensor..where is this sensor located & what is the best way to clean it?

could be, lots of glitches with these cars, also clean ur MAF can't hurt, but if u started to lose power and the lights didn't go away it could also of meant ur alternator was on its way out, but thats not the case, cause it went away.

Re: ABS, Traction control & hand brake light on

Funnything, I just did an exact same search on this last night. Same problem has been ongoing with my car ever since I changed my battery. From what I have read it could possibly be a bad brake light switch. Im going down to the dealership today and pick one up. Part number given is 1K2945511NAR and retails for a whopping $6.00. I will put this in today if time permits, from what I heard its a fairly simple thing to do. Also, check your brake fluid if you haven't already and also your fuses that are linked to the t/c and abs. Any one of these could make your lights come also. I have already tried all of these so now im going to try the brake light switch and hopefully that is what the problem is.

/\ The guy above is right.

Same thing happened on my 2002 as well. It is the brakelight switch. I never fixed it though, and it never came back......I probably just jinxed it though, lol

Same thing happens to some people when they put aftermarket HID's... SO i would guess it has something to do with battery/wires-contacts

yes, dirty abs sensor could cause that or one of the sensors is not in all the way(just make sure not to brake it when you try to clean it or take it out.)
all of those lights came from a problem with abs. the rest of the lights come on because the abs controls all of them.
i'd look at abs sensors first, but the best way is scan it and see what codes you get from abs module.

you have to give me the exact code.... there are allot of codes starting with "low input voltage" .... try getting it scanned again or remember the codes...
