Are BMW drivers that threatened?

I'm not sure if it's the S5 or what. Last time it was a guy in a massive pickup truck. This time it's the battle of the half-wit 3 series drivers!

1. Got on the 407 at Jane heading East around 6:30 pm. Was tooling along in the next to left lane and was catching up to a 335 coupe driving way too slowly in the left lane. As I'm about to get in front of him to pass slower moving traffic he takes off like his pants are on fire and blasts ahead. I actually slow down to let him dry off a bit, get in the left lane, and eventually get back to my cruising speed. Not 5 minutes later, who do I catch up with again - the same guy again driving too slowly in the left lane. This time as I come up behind him he blasts off again and starts weaving in and out of traffic. Again, I slow down because it's obvious he doesn't know how to drive. Then I catch him a third time, and he darts off right and gets off at Bayview, much to my relief.

2. Around 10:15 pm I get on the DVP at York Mills going south. I didn't even notice that I caught a 3 series sedan who was in the right lane somewhere around Eglinton. I'm not sure what he was thinking, as I was again just minding my own business (although definitely going quicker than the rest of the traffic). After I pass him he pretty much blows a gasket and starts weaving in and out of traffic, I think trying to bait me. I back off and chug along in the left lane. He lets me catch him and then pulls in behind me. Past Don Mills road there's a ton of traffic and he busts right and starts acting like he's having an epileptic fit behind the wheel. I lose sight of him and don't care. Sometime after Bayview/Bloor I start catching him again. I don't want to catch him. I don't want to have anything to do with him. He "races" me all the way down the DVP AND across the Gardner, blasting off and busting around other drivers, while I just do my thing down the left lane.

Unbelievable. I don't want to have anything to do with these clowns, especially with our street racing laws here. Funny thing is, they are happy until I inadvertently catch up with them. I don't think this happened when I had the G35....

yes. they were both baiting you. if you had open highway you would of seen a 335i rip into your s5. for asshole driving and weaving in and out of traffic but still..how does it feel knowing a average 3 series would pull on a flagship series audi?

Let them be, if they act like that every time they drive, either they will lose their license or get so many tickets they won't be able to afford the insurance on their Beemer. (Gotta love Ontario insurance skyrocketing after a couple of tickets)

yes i have noticed this also, when im driving the M5 i get people trying to do fly-bys and what not. Just a few weeks ago i was driving down duffren and some retard in a GSR rides my ass and then pulls in the left lane and attemps to fly by me. All i have to say is get used to driving a nice car like a S5, when people see fast cars they think its an isntant race.

I agree with all of you on that, but I must also chime in from the other side. I sometimes ride peoples asses (dirty thoughts, :) ) but only because they are going lik 55 or 65 in the fast lane where you got 6 cars piled behind this dimwit. If they don't move, shift to 3rd and fly by making them know they are annoying.

So it's not always the flyby drivers who are dumb, sometimes its the people who mind their own business a bit too much.

And as always, prius's flying by is always a crack up.

Funny thing is, I LIKE the 335i coupe. I picked the S5 because it looks way better and being in the land of ice and snow, wanted AWD. Once you load up a 335xi here with similar options, the S5 is a no brainer.

My point is that in my buddy's 911 - no baiting issues. In my 04 G35 - no baiting issues. But for some reason in the S5 - everyone is pent up beyond belief. Very odd.

yes. the 335 is just a 3 series. the m6 is the equivalent of the s5. class for class comparison the a4 s-line would be close to the 335i, and the a5 would compare to the 6 series.

It depends on the person... these types of people drive all types of cars. I was driving home from the gym in the GT2 last week, and a guy in a new G37S was trying to race me on the way home. Happens all over.

I'd say the A5/S5 is actually the 335 coupe equivalent. They did test the S5 against the 335i coupe on fifth gear. I see the A5/S5 as just a 2 door version of the A4/S4 because they actually share the same lines and interior. Plus the 6 series is WELL above the A5/S5 price range, not to mention performance range as well.

The s5 is the same idea of a larger touring car but thats about as close as it gets to an M6.

I say the M6 is defienalty not in the same class of an S5. M6 is more in the class of a CL 55 AMG

I guess I wasn't as clear as I could have been - I was passing one of those guys on the right because he was studying the inside of his eyelids while in the left lane. In Toronto, drivers are so bad that the far right lane is usually the fastest.

The upshot here is that these guys are actually slowing me down! I catch them, they want to race, and I slow down to avoid their stupidity / poor driving / pent up rage. Guess I'm taking the S5 to Mosport soon....

its not hard to catch on to binary 0's and 1's in orders of 8 is not much of a puzzle, you should do it in HEX, DEC/CHAR, or Base 64... most would not even know....
