    Twin intercoolers?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have seen a ton of people piecing together ebay FMIC kits and I had the idea to run the output of the FMIC into the stock SMIC then keep the stock throttle body piping.

    Would it work?

Would it do anything benicificial of just be a waste of time?

    Has anyone tried it?

Just an idea I havn't put to much thought into it just asking what other ppl think.

    Re: Twin intercoolers?

Its been done ive seen it myself. This kid at my school ran a FMIC with piping that ended at the SMIC, Mike says its not as efficient though.

An intercooler does not only cool the charge but is designed to have very good flow characteristics. By adding a FMIC then have the SMIC in series it would provide sufficient cooling but the flow characteristics would be pretty bad I would think.

    Re: Twin intercoolers?

He is right basically adding the FMIC and SMIC you are just adding more resistance to the turbo which can be bad. FMIC are obviously designed to be more efficient and making cooler denser air.
