It depends on how you drive. If you drive aggressively then you will have to replace your clutch soon. It can't handle the added torque very well. For more information search the forum, this subject has been discussed extensively in the past.

You'll be fine, perhaps faster wear depending on driving.. AWE had a stock clutch on their GT28R B6 1.8T... it just depends if you are launching the car or just enjoy the added acceleration. I've had GIAC FX for about 5k and no issues on the stock clutch either.

I have the Unitronic file on my car with a brand new OEM clutch, and it's holding very well. 15,000+ km so far.

Couldn't be more pleased with both, the chip tune and clutch, in fact.

unitronic ftmfw. they have hands-down the best service available, you did the right thing getting them (not saying others don't make a quality tune, i'm not looking for a pissing match here)

and your stock clutch should be fine for stage 1, 1+, k04, and even BT if you're gentle with it. If you're really looking to beat the hell out of the car down the road just wait till your stocker needs replacing and go with a FE SS or clutchmasters or something of that nature.

talk to greg@DTH or jason@jhm when the time comes and they can point you in the right direction

Well, the reason for upgrading the performance of the car isn't really to drive it moderately, is it? For anything other than a K03, you'll need a new, better clutch. You can probably get away with a stage 1 upgrade but it won't last long.
