Is Alcantara dead?

I heard that Audi is not doing Alcantara in the interior anymore for '09?

anyone know anything about this? i ordered it on my '09 a month ago and i will be pissed if it just shows up here as all leather...

I'm not sure which car your ordered but the S5 does not have any alcantara option if I recall. I ordered one and it was not on the '09 ordering list.

I know the '09 A5 has Alcantara inserts available because I've seen them and they are cool looking. The ones I saw were black perforated and the backing is a silver color. I liked it anyway. Not sure about the S5.

It was available when i ordered my S5. I have recently heard that they are not doing it anymore and it is no longer on their website. i was hoping someone had some info on what happened...

I just picked my 09 up on thursday and i have black alcantara. =] so your good.

You picked up the '09 on Thursday? My dealer told me they just started to build them in the factory... :-/

I got my 09 S5 2 weeks ago and I have the 2 tone Alcantara and I love it. I would post some pics but for some reason I can't here.

Looks like the new alcantara is perforated in some way. I thought the first year s5's had alcantara like my b5 s4, but the 09's look different.

Anyone confirms with pics?
