Where to buy console lid?

We were at a drive thru zoo this weekend and my wife freaked out because a buffalo wanted to kiss her:) Anyhow she broke the lid of the center console Armrest. Is there a good place to buy just the lid? Anyone got a part number it's black BTW.

The dealer or send a message to the couple of members that has access to Audi's inventory. I've personally dealt with 400HPA4. Great guy. He should be able to get the part for you rather quickly.

Yes I drive threw Zoo! It was pretty fun! I just would not take any of my cars again! The animals and kids are very messy:) Next time we go I may rent a car:)

Hey you guys think that peice will hold with JB Weld? I just need the lid. Seems like the whole thing needs replaced.

yeah, saw the pics now. didn't realize that they were designed that way. It looks like you do need the entire top part or try to use some crazy adhesive, which I bet will break off eventually.

your wife must have been REALLY startled.

Try the classifieds to see if anyone is parting out a car. Maybe your local junkyard to see if they have any damaged A4's laying around. Or if worst comes to worst, you can go to the stealership.

or just have a permanent cup holder there!

If its broken from the hinges, some epoxy will hold it off for a while, otherwise u need the whole thing, its like 400 bucks or something.

The lid only is available as a seperate item, the part number for it in black is 8E0 864 245 D 4A3 (if leather) for the 2004 model year (pulled it from your signature).

Retail from the dealer is $154.23, I have sold them in the past for $130 plus shipping. They are not typically stocked and take about 5 days to arrive.

Justin, the latch does not to appear to be sold seperately.

Yeah, after I posted this and got in my car to drive home, I realized that.... It really sucks the whole lid has to be replaced......And the fact that I have the navy blue interior does not help my chances of getting a used one....Oh well, my car will be gone toward the end of the week.....

damn i wish these weres so much money! im in the same boat as you are needing a black one...mines busted beyond belief. not only does the latch not work, but one of the arms that holds it in there is busted too.

JB Weld won't work for long. I tried it when mine broke and it lasted for about a week. Depends how much you use it.

My latch broke last week, and I found it broken. I suspect my son left his sunglasses in the console, they broke the latch and he "forgot" to tell me.

I found a black one on eBay that I will probably buy that I hope fits, here is the link.....

$24 and free shipping. Much less than the $150 OEM one from Audi with the crappy plastic latch. (For a $53000 car I would expect metal...)

If it fits I will post again so we can all fix ours.

OP you need to get some plastic weld or plastic glue and just glue that piece together.

ive had good luck with this product, I used it on my glove box hinge and you cant even tell its been repaired :)

I honestly got one from ebay for 20$ figured it was worth a shot and i have to say im pretty satisfied with it! Fits perfectly and looks close enough to OEM where it doesnt bother me.

I got mine here from someone parting out an A4. I think it was $50.00 or something. Best bet is to find someone parting one out.

I got the same one not too long ago. Only issue I have with it is the cheap foam they use. Other than that, it works great.

You guys know that the C5 A6 lid is almost identical? I have a beige one here, compared to the one from my A4 the only difference worth mentioning is the armrest base is shorter, not a direct swap. But you can scavenge the armrest for parts.
As a last and cheezy resort you could always get a cheap cabinet/ specialty hinge from a hardware store and screw it on to reattach the lid.
