Ive never had any fueling problems, was just getting a whine from the rear, replaced the filter and it went away. Havent dyno'd the car since the motor was untouched and about a week after I installed the 3071R. Also ran up to 28psi on the 71 and never had any type of A/F issues

Eurocode sells the GT30 file for $899, if the customer buys the 630cc injectors from them at the same time the file is then $699. GTRS REvo file owners can also do a upgrade for $200.

Re: The B6 B.A.T. Tuning thread

My car is back alive again. I'm occasionally getting a slight erratic idle but that will go away with time [I think]. Car sounds a bit meaner with the cams at idle now. Damn adjustable cam gear rubs on the cover so I need to trim the cover. Cover is off the car right now. Swapped in Bosch copper plugs and I think it runs a bit smoother. Think my Bosch platinm plugs were fouled a tad.

Oh, and custom ASP tune on my car.

Doug, bump the idle to 750-800, itll go away

I noticed my exhaust sounded very racey (not ricey) with cams past 6krpms, 8k was craziness

Re: The B6 B.A.T. Tuning thread

If I can get that cam gear cover back on then the AVant is coming up to Maine with me this week. I'll try to get a few highway pass videos if it comes with me. Gotta finish dinner and then get the bumper and headlights back on. Then clear that damn ABS code (I hate disconnecting the battery) and take it for a spin down the road

How do I bump the idle? channel 1 on Lemmi doesn't work. Its already at 800rpm.

    EDIT:
ECU has learned and the idle is back to normal. I tried getting that 6deg timing back but CFs are still too high. A/F still goes super rich at 21psi in the upper RPM after a few pulls. I'm back to -6deg timing via Lemmi and 11psi (WG) until my car gets re-tuned in mid-September.

Regarding the cams... Maybe its my imagination but I feel more throttle response just off idle (like if I blip the throttle). 1st pull (before A/F went super rich) the Avant pulled very hard above 4krpm on 21psi. Definitely feels much stronger than my old 1.8T with a GT28RS (as expected). I can't wait until this file is re-written and fully optimized for the new engine. Then the fun begins .

as things progress we all need to write detailed reviews about the pros and cons of our setups as well as shortened hardware lists and dyno/track #'s.

It'll be nice to have all this info in one place for people to see. Make sure you tag the thread with all the common stuff so that it's indexed properly too - I'd hate for this to not come up in a search

Exactly. That is why I haven't turned up the boost yet. While I was out logging to make sure things were working right with the cams I thought I'd also adjust boost and timing but that yielded the same results (no surprise there) as did in the past.

To get the idle to adjust on my car I had to set it to like 1700rpm, it took it and then I brought it back down. I tried several times to just bump it up and it wouldn't work.

my ASP file is running crazy rich A:F too. I see 0.735 lambda very consistently, and the requested is 0.68 . I have never seen anything below 0.735, and I am fairly certain I've reached the lower limit of my O2 sensor ... When on the dyno, the tailpipe sniffer was maxxed out as well, at below 10:1.

However, running that rich does have its advantages. At peak torque, I see about 9.5 degrees timing advance, and typically see 19-21 at redline

Re: The B6 B.A.T. Tuning thread

I talked to haltech on the phone today for 1/2 hour or so.

They said basically the software for the E8 (which they said would be the best for our cars) comes with all of the capabilities to use factory Audi/VW sensors.

However, we would have to get another B6 harness and use that to make the Haltech harness if we wanted to run it.

Total price for the E8 and their harness to wire into a stock harness = $1500

Ill be doing more research in the comming days

I talked to haltech on the phone today for 1/2 hour or so.

They said basically the software for the E8 (which they said would be the best for our cars) comes with all of the capabilities to use factory Audi/VW sensors.

However, we would have to get another B6 harness and use that to make the Haltech harness if we wanted to run it.

Total price for the E8 and their harness to wire into a stock harness = $1500

Ill be doing more research in the comming days
Does this use DBW? Do we get to keep all the creature comforts. The only way I'll go standalone is if I'm able the keep my Audi like an Audi, not a chopped up, the speedo doesn't work and I have my A/C on a toggle switch car.

speedo works, DBW may not (I forgot to ask) but if it doesnt, that shouldnt affect how your car runs. Ill check on AC also

It would most likely need to be converted to ndbw just like the 034 stand alone, the stand alones just aren't designed to do throttle control.

AEM has a dbw setup but will not sell it to the public.

I'm just saying that I and others want everything to work just like they do now. I would do the TB conversion and will this allow use or a OBD1 VR6 TB? There are alot of questions. My question to Haltech would be, "Will my car operate exactly like it does with the factory ECU other then doing a DBC conversion, and if not how much work/money am I looking at to make it?"

Right I need to talk to them more, and even besides them we still may have the lugtronic option, and not to mention 034 and others. We all need a standalone that we can agree on and use it to our advantage with maps and such

Why wouldn't your car operate exactly the same as it does now, your basically just replacing the stock ECU for another one that allows you to go in and make changes to what ever you want.

The only thing my 034 stand alone doesn't use that the ecu used is the knock sensors and it doesn't allow me to change the idle speed, but my TB does have a idle screw.

That's what I'm talking about, I want it to be the same car that came out of the factory with all my options working as Audi intended them too. I could probably live without the cruise, but I'm just saying. I think that's the main reason people aren't going to SA. Mike, your car doesn't fit into this category, it's a race car. All your SA does is work the engine.

hmmm good point, it all depends on whether 25+awhp is worth cruise control for you

I used it for a year as a daily driver with the SA and did plenty of 7-8 hr drives up/down the CA coast, even had a 91 octane tune for it at the time. All of the SA's just control the engine and once you do go SA the stock ECU is useless.
