To snub or not To snub... Thats the Question?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i've been contemplating about putting the snub mount that i bought in my car for a while now. i've read many threads that say that they vibrate alot and break in half. My question is will it vibrate from now on ? or does it have to be broken in.

Poll question: Despite the vibration and short life span, Do you guy still think its worth installing it?

    oh forgot to mention that it is a APR mount :{

If it is centered correctly you should have no issues what so ever... when you see the old one you'll be glad you upgraded.

i installed an apikol snub this weekend in my B7 A4 and absolutely love it. Bracket mount is in the same position as stock. No vibration or anything weird going on.

I love mine (APR), it makes a noticeable difference on shifts and no drawbacks.

this is one of the cheapest, easiest, and smartest upgrades/mods you can do.
like easier than changing spark plugs easy.
if it breaks in half (IF) just get a new one.

Re: To snub or not To snub... Thats the Question?

the vibration isn't that bad, unless you are looking for it, you can barely barely notice it and its only at idle. you should definitely do it, i have apr and mine has not broken, you just have to center it!

Re: To snub or not To snub... Thats the Question?

I've ran an APR snub for 25k miles. No cracks. Only vibration is in the winter when it's hard from the cold. Once the engine warms up, it softens a little and doesn't vibrate at all. (sry but that came out dirty)

    1. Just because a handful cracked, doesn't mean all do.
    2. It doesn't vibrate if you install it correctly, centered with clearance all around.
    3. It makes a big difference in shift smoothness, and eliminates that 'clunk' you may get if your oem mount is worn out.

It was literally one of my first mods. Even on a low mileage stock car it made a sifgnificant difference. Driving a stick you shift a lot, so its well worth the $30-50 you spend on it.

Re: To snub or not To snub... Thats the Question?

I've gone through 2 apr which broke with about 5k miles each. I'm running OEM right now and cant wait until my neuspeed arrives, car feel horible with OEM (once you get used to having a good snub mount). I even ordered one for my sisters CVT A4 jaja

Re: To snub or not To snub... Thats the Question?

my apr was perfect when i replaed it at 60k miles. i installed it as soon as i bought the car from the dealer brand new. i bought an apikol and replaced it for the hell of it just cuz i was doing some 60k maintenance. like other's have said, if you see the stock snub mount, its a no brainer.

Apikol FTW. I can't even tell my car is on when it's in neutral. See my write-up HERE.
