    Those with a Milltek

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just purchased a milltek from one of the zine members and the right muffler hangs lower and the tip actually leans against the inside of the exhaust opening on the rear bumper. I tried to fanagle the bracket in the middle of the exhaust to straighten it out, but no luck. I really don't want to pull it off and have a shop reweld the hangar (which I think I might have to do). I am trying to get some advice before going that route.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

    Re: Those with a Milltek

same here. I love the sound of mine but yeah, the fitment is a bit off. I just live with it, I might take it to a muffler shop some day.

How much would it cost to straighten the tips out, anyway?

Right on. To this day (after much adjustment), mine still isn't perfect.

It's also still not loud enough for my taste, but still has a nice purr.

    Good luck.

    Re: Those with a Milltek

my milltek A4 mufflers did the same thing, the S4 ones not nearly as bad, but i still feel as though they off a little from time to time... and the S4 mufflers are a more aggresive sound for you guys thinking the A4 is too tame... or you could also do straight pipes all the way to the mufflers, I think itll be loud enough then hahaha

all exhausts are the same way, take it to the shop what they'll do is bend the hangar and adjust the center support to make it even, takes time and patience but not too hard.

    Re: Those with a Milltek

^^no more than $25-$50 i mean if i was the shop that installed it i wouldn't charge a dime, if they installed it it's their job to make it look flush, that's what happened to me. if they didn't install it i think $25-50 is reasonable but $50 is pushing it. it isn't hard i mean if u were good with tools u can do it, i just don't have the patience lol.

Same here, the right tip was hanging a bit lower than the left one. The shop heated it up and bent it a little. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes!

    Re: Those with a Milltek

How big of sound difference is it between the resonated & non-resonated version of the milltek. I plan on getting their exhaust but not sure which to get. I check youtube but the videos for a B6 don't state if they are res or not... that I could find. Thanks.

    ^^

resonated: almost as quiet as stock, won't even notice a difference

non-resonanted: Pretty loud basically straight piped but with 2 mufflers at the end

if u want something in between Magnaflow is ur best bet, sounds good too. Now if u want something almost as loud as non resonated but slightly louder than the magnaflows and by far the best sounding exhaust available for the B6 get an AWE.

    Re: Those with a Milltek

My right tip hangs lower, but it doesn't touch the exhaust cutout...play around with it a little and see if you can move it, otherwise go to an exhaust shop and have them cut off and reweld the hanger to the muffler
