Installing Buttafuoco's city lights

First, very nice work, Sir Buttafuoco.

Haven't done a lot of work on this car myself, so just being overly cautious perhaps, but thought others might benefit from my stupid questions.

Looking at the picture, this is the passenger side light, looking toward the passenger side, with the snorkel and stock city light pulled out---have gotten this far.

Anyone who could just "do this in their sleep" can skip ahead. For other noobs to this car, piece of cake to remove the snorkel, and then pop open the roundish port on the back of the light. Not sure if it's just because I have the bi-xenons that it's tight in there for my big clumbsy fingers with all those wires going everywhere, but it is, so one just has to be sure you're pulling on the right thing, and pull the stock city light straight out, of course trying not to pull on the wiring itself, but using the connector.

So, experts, help me out here. As in the pic below, there are three wires attached to the stock city light connector on my bi-xenons, a brown wire that appears to go from the city light connector into the back of the DRL connector (12:00 in the photo), and the blue and brown wires, which join the taped up mass of wires that feed into the power harness and plug on the right of the photo.

Need some guidance on how I go from this point, to plugging in the red and white wires on the LED city light into something, of course without completely screwing everything else up. Waiting on your advice to proceed, thanks in advance.

1) don't worry about the third wire...it's a common 'ground' that gets daisy-chained to other bulbs.

2) pull out the stock bulb

3) plug in the red/white male 194 connector where the stock bulb used to be. (the red wire matches up with the blue wire in the picture)

4) plug the LED socket/bulb into the housing where the stock bulb & socket used to be

5) peel off the red tape-backing and stick it to the back of the access caps

6) make sure no wires or other plastic directly touch the black resistor

Mission Impossible....
I got the angel eyes about a couple years ago and the shop (creative autowerks) modified my wirings. All the wires in the citylight housing connects to one big plugging slot so I couldn't just unplug the city light. Would I have to cut the blue&brown wires that are plugged onto the slot and rewire them with the resistor set-up provided(cut the plugs out from the plug&play LED)? It's just that the plugging portion is not usable anymore.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying you can't pull out your current citylight socket?

No, not the socket. I was talking about the red/white male 194 connector. there's no such thing that i can plug this onto. My stock citylight wirings are connected to the All-in-One slot individually (blue and brown separate).

Thanks for the advice, that really was easy! I just didn't realize that your plug went into the socket of the old bulb. The longest/most frustrating part of the install stemmed from a noobish / overprecautious mistake, unlugging the power harness plug from the back of the headlight assembly first......it wouldn't go back on because of its ridiculous overengineered tab that took me way to long to figure out. So, other noobs, keep the car / lights off, and you don't have to unplug the harness to change the bulb!

Overall, a pretty easy install with these instructions, even for me. The lights look great, and though I'm in the middle of a big new front end project, I'll be sure to post some pics when I"m all done......

I must be missing something...are you saying you don't currently have a citylight bulb/socket in your housing?

oooooooooooops...i didn't know i was supposed to plug the new led+resistor setup onto the stock citylight bulb/socket. damn...it would've been so much easier that way. rather than plugging them together, i cut both the stock socket and the connector on the new led+resistor setup and rewired them together. But, because the third wire is now disconnected from the previous setup, I'm getting bulb out signs on the left and right main beam. main beam is the DRL's right?

so you got the city lights from butta and you then cut wires in your headlights? should have asked us first!
