    Re: ECU Question

No it won't work. The 2002 ECU has completely different fueling and timing maps in it. This is one reason the 02's will make more power then the other years too.

Contact Robin, Chris, or Nick @ Revo and ask them what ECU #'s will work.

Really? Do you have more detail? It's looking like the `02 with the sport suspension (the one I happened to stumble across a great deal on for my first Audi) was a bit of a gem in some regards. Better suspension, VAG-COM'able independent fogs without having to rewire, and now more power too? Does this apply after being flashed by APR? (currently 1, just PM'd manguyen about injectors for 1+, wont go any further than k04)

I noticed you just started saying this. Do you have any proof that '02s make more power when modified over a 2004 or the like?

    Re: ECU Question

The 02's have different with the fuel and timing maps, and are for 02's only. If you notice the 2 most powerful cars with GT28s, Greg's and David's are both 02's. The guys with 03's and up, like Shawn's (sorry Shawn) are having a hard time hitting 300whp, even with turbos bigger then 28's. I was told by an unnamed source about the ECU.

I'm aware of those differences within the ECU but Jordan's car is a 2003 and his car has always made some good power.

    Re: ECU Question

As long as I've been on here, Jordan's car has a been a built 2.0 on race fuel, so I don't count his, even then his last dyno was only 328AWHP with poor air and a slipping clutch. So that might put him at ~350ish w/ good air and clutch. David had a 350AWHP dyno sheet from his car, stock motor, GT28, and race fuel. So...

How don't you count his? He's still running ME7 tuning on a 2003 ECu.

Show me David's 350 dyno chart.

Show me proof 2002s are more powerful. Until then I call this a wild claim with no facts supporting it. Sorry to be an ass but I don't see any proof.

    Re: ECU Question

You have to talk to David about his dyno sheet. I was told by a very reputable person, he can chime in if he wishes as I don't like going and say, "Well such and such said this" pulling them on the spot. You have an 02, you'll see when you dyno it. Your numbers will be slightly higher then a newer car with the same mods. Also, why would the 02 ECU be exclusive?

    Re: ECU Question

That is fine. We'll let David post up. I understand your position.

Yes, we'll see once my car gets re-tuned. My set-up is very similar to some others on here that aren't 2002s so we'll get to see a nice comparison.

Not sure why its exclusive. I haven't bothered to figure it out. I just assumed the ECu was different because it was the first model year (in the US) for the B6.

    Re: ECU Question

Honestly, I think they're different due to them becoming LEV. I'm not sure when that started though.

    Re: ECU Question

If this winds up becoming true then your car and mine just became worth more money to the modding crowd
