What's wrong wit my car

so last night after leaving the club i'm doing about 80 when my car just dies on me. She cranks up just fine but she won't rev over 2000 rpm's and the CEL light is on....do u guys have any suggestions on what it could be???

Yup, an ECU is a pricey fix. You hooked up with the Atlanta scene at all? We're big on AW, got maybe 30+ active who do drives, G2G, and such. Some have VAG and can help.

2000 rpm and a CEL. When was the last time you checked ALL your hose fittings? They blow loose if you aren't paying attention, and a few hours with the nose off can solve a lot of problems.

So, what are you driving, engine wise and mod-wise. Bone-stock, or mods out the wazoo? How mcuh time do you really have under the hood doing more than finding the dipstick? W/O a frame of reference, it's kind of hard helping.

To be Honest W/ you i do not..i'm not to mechanically inclined...I haven't hooked up w/ the Atlanta scene but i'm very interested in doing so...It happened after leaving the club friday not and it didn't help that i was kinda f***** up....cause for some reason i couldn't get the hood open....of all times for it to act up it....She is bone stock w/o much time under the hood

And no, the ECU isn't THAT expensive. You can find B5 A4 ECU's on eBay, Vortex, AZ, ... for $140-200 shipped.
