We are almost running the same setup. Not sure if he has the VAST w/m injection kit though.

i just ordered mine from the GB, id say its DIY if your able to change your own brakes, not DIY if you only have changed your oil.

My main point of concern is the whole drilling into the up pipe for the nozzles. I heard something about a tap and die set, that's a big piece of equipment that I don't have access to. You can't just drill with any old handheld drill correct?

Think this will be over your head if you are not familiar with taps and dies. They are completely different than a drill bit, they create threads so you can screw things into. And they are fairly innexpensive around the price of a drill bit. My comment on the brakes is the relationship in dificulty for DIY, I would put this as a step or 2 harder

here is a write up for an Aquamist kit, I would say this would be more difficult than doing brakes since it involves electronics, and tapping into wires.

The tap size is 1/8th inch npt, you need to check with the brand meth kit your buying because not all of them use the same fitting, most do but there is 1 or 2 that use a different style

im using a snow-performance kit. i prefer methanol over alcohol.
s4racer88: yes the controller will turn the injection off for you when under your pre-defined settings. i.e. under 10psi no injection......

Has anyone relocated the stock windshield wiper level indicator to a tank inside the trunk?don't think it would be that hard to do and you would get a lot more reserve. Also does the vast kit come with enough line to run a tank in the trunk?

I put my Aquamist HFS-1 in the trunk with a 2.5 gallon tank. Pump is located below the tank. Works amazing.

i've read through that audiworld diy 10 times and every time when i think im about to buy a kit, that diy pops into my head. how essential is a new tune when adding water/meth? are good gains still possible without fiddling with any of the tuning?

From what I've heard a tune is definitely needed, especially if you're Stage 3.

i dont think its necessarily NEEDED

you will still benefit.. as a 50/50 mix will put you at like 110 octane.. your car will still add timing where it can and you will pick up some power


i heard you can run a race file on the water/meth kit too.. pretty safely as like i said.. your sitting at about 110 octane. AND on top of that.. have a lot lower IATs

well im puttin it on my car..and runnin it without a tune, then after a little while ill run it with a t tune..but just wondering how im going to do with filling it up all the time..cause i heard the windshield washer fluid tank only last a tank of gas...is this true...i need to figure this out, i fill my car up twice a week about..am i really going to need to have a bottl in my car the rest of my cars life...

I run with no tune. Just OTS EPL Stage 3 file. VERY NOTICEABLE difference with the aqamist on/off.

Here is a log of my Aquamist. Did 2 runs back to back for each, WI on, and WI off. Note the heat soak. With the HFS-1 on, ZERO heatsoak. Ambient temp was ~80*.

ER+HFS-1=IAT heaven.


By far one of the best mods I've done. I'll be playing with it some more and having the Meth come on a tad earlier.

My 2.5 gallon tank lasts me probably 4-6 tanks of gas...It really depends on how much you go into boost(for me 15+psi)

I have the Vast kit and I had it tuned for it. I tapped mine into the windshield washer tank. The tank last for a tank and a half to two tanks of gas depending how often I'm WOT and how often I spray my windshield. I am using -20 washer fluid with one 12oz bottle of heet added. I am happy with the added power but the main reason I did it was for track and I haven't been since it was installed so I can't comment there but I think between the meth injection and the ER's I will be running in the safe zone for those long WOT runs especially next month at RA which has lots of long straight aways and is 4 miles long. Here is a picture of where I tapped the Bi-pipe, install was a piece of cake btw.
