    Dashboard Clicking

I get a behind/in the dashboard like a little electric motors was moving, happened periodically, even when the car was off. So i ran Vag, and this is the code that was found

    1 Fault Found:
00727 - Potentiometer in Positioning Motor for Defrost Flap (G135)

Is this something that I can just pop out the glovebox and change a motor, or do I have to remove the whole dashboard to get to it, TIA

    Re: Dashboard Clicking

^ Bump for any more info on this one. I think I've gotten this same sound after I turn off my car. It sounds like some small motor is trying to move a damper in the dashboard or something. You hear a faint motor sound, followed by some light clicking sounds.

all you need to do is remove the glove box which is very simple, you will see the positioning motors under the dash, they all have diffrent color linkages to identify them, the one your after has a dark green linkage attached to it, very easy to replace.

Thanks for the pics A4twin, awesome. I think that it would be more item #16 Adjust motor defroster as this is more in line with the VAG reading, what do you think, maybe I am missing something.

#16 sounds right to me....have you tried resetting your motors with the vag-com? there is a post about it here's link, do this before you buy anything those motors are expensive. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228369
