    Did I kill my MAF?

So on the way home it started pouring down HARD and about 2 miles from my house, I drove through a newly formed lake in the road, along with a person who was about a car length ahead of me. Well with neither of us being able to see the lake because it was raining so hard, we hit it at about 25-30mph, and he splashed a ton of water right on the front of my car, and I immediately knew that a bunch of that had to have gotten in the intake system. And not two seconds later it started to sputter a bit, so I shut it down right away and pulled off into a parking lot.

Out of curiosity, I started it up a few minutes later and it would run for about two seconds and then die. About 15 minutes later I tried again and it stayed running, no CEL, no sputtering, so I limped it home. And to try and find out how far I could take it before it would sputter, I got into a bit, and once it hit any boost at all, it would stutter.

So I'm thinking it's the MAF since that is the first piece of hardware the water would reach. Also, I took it down the block and it starting misfiring(flashing CEL) so I turned it around and parked it.

Anyone know what else it could be

could also have a bad coil if it is flashing cel and running like it is on 3 cylinders. If it indeed is continuing to run like on 3 cylinders and has flashing light then try to unplug 1 coil at a time and wait a second to see if the engine changes rpm or not or dies. If all but 1 cause a change then that 1 coil is bad. It could be the maf as well though but that little test will rule out or find a bad coil or two

I just changed them(for the second time) with a fresh set of E CPs not even 5K miles ago, do you think it really could be them?

If I have it in park, I can rev it all I want and it runs fine, it's just that when it gets a load, it starts acting up...

it would be misfiring at idle in neutral or park if it were a coil so that most likely isnt it.

Thank goodness, mofos are too damn expensive!

Anything else it could be besides a MAF? And I still have some CRC MAF cleaner left from when I cleaned it last, would that help, or does once it get wet it's ruined?

maf should be a little over 100 guess it depends which one you get.

$153.74 from ECS, says it's OE supplier.

Is it worth a try with the MAF cleaner or is it ruined?
